  • • As the Manager, HRIS (Workday) at Kin Insurance, you will own and optimize the Workday ecosystem to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and strategic alignment with business goals, directly enabling Kin’s remote-first, high-growth workforce to operate efficiently and compliantly across 40+ states.
  • • You will lead end-to-end Workday administration including configuration of Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Time Tracking, Learning, and Peakon modules; manage position and organization design, security roles, EIBs, and advanced reporting; and drive system audits and compliance reporting to maintain audit-ready records and support payroll accuracy.
  • • You will build, troubleshoot, and scale API and SFTP integrations with IT, Finance, Legal, and external vendors; resolve data feed issues; develop new integrations as needed; and create calculated fields and compensation/equity matrices to enable data-driven decisions across People Operations.
  • • You will elevate Workday proficiency across the HR team by designing training resources, delivering hands-on support, and fostering self-service capability; partner cross-functionally with IT, InfoSec, Finance, and Legal to align HRIS initiatives with broader business objectives; and stay current with Workday releases to proactively recommend enhancements.
  • • You will provide operational support to Payroll including EIB uploads, earnings/deductions configuration, overtime and commission calculations, and payroll processing assistance; ensure timely and accurate processing while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee data.

  • • You will help ensure Workday operates as a trusted, well-governed system with improved data integrity, fewer manual workarounds, and scalable processes; enable stakeholders to rely on accurate, timely reporting for compensation, workforce planning, and compliance decisions.
  • • You will grow your expertise in enterprise HRIS strategy, Workday advanced configuration, integration architecture, and HR analytics; develop leadership and stakeholder management skills; and position yourself as a trusted advisor who drives both operational excellence and strategic HR innovation at a fast-growing, mission-driven fintech company.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 6+ years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or People Operations with deep, hands-on Workday administration experience, including configuration of Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Learning, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Peakon, and People Analytics modules.
  • • Proven expertise in Workday position management, supervisory organization design, job profile configuration, EIB uploads, and advanced reporting using calculated fields, compensation/equity matrices, and custom reports.
  • • Demonstrated experience building and troubleshooting API and SFTP integrations; resolving data feed issues; and developing new integrations to support HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT workflows.
  • • Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, IF formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and strong data fluency to interpret, validate, and leverage HRIS data for decision-making.
  • • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in fast-paced, high-growth environments; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders; and handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • • Bonus: People management experience and broader HR functional expertise beyond HRIS (e.g., compensation, benefits, or talent management).

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and company equity through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), granted as part of Kin’s standard compensation package based on role and level.
  • • 401(k) plan with company match up to 4% of eligible earnings, plus multiple medical plan options, dental, vision, and company-funded HSA contributions based on plan selection.
  • • Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits including company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, access to mental health support and confidential counseling, and supplemental options like long-term disability, critical illness, accident, legal, and pet insurance.
  • • Flexible PTO for exempt employees (typically 15–20 days per year), 8 company-observed holidays, and generous paid parental leave — up to 14 weeks at 100% pay for birthing parents and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents.
  • • Career mobility and internal growth opportunities across the organization, plus professional development budgets for certifications, conferences, and learning, subject to management approval.
  • • Remote-first work environment with the flexibility to live and work full-time in any of 40 eligible U.S. states (including CA for exempt roles only), supported by Kin’s culture of trust, autonomy, and intentional collaboration.
