Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Manager, Merchant Strategy & Operations at DoorDash, you will lead the support experience for merchants, owning both strategy and execution to transform support into a tech-first, scalable, and seamless experience that drives merchant satisfaction, retention, and loyalty. This role is critical to ensuring merchants thrive on the platform, directly impacting DoorDash’s mission to empower local economies by enabling sustainable growth for restaurant and retail partners.
  • • You will strategize by building the framework for helping merchants succeed post-onboarding, focusing on fast, seamless solutions that minimize operational friction when issues arise, ensuring merchants can resolve challenges quickly and continue growing their businesses profitably.
  • • You will experiment, analyze, and implement data-driven initiatives using sound business judgment to drive go-to-market execution for new products and services that enhance the merchant experience, leveraging analytics to measure impact and iterate rapidly.
  • • You will influence cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing, sales, finance, and analytics teams to align on priorities, secure resources, and launch key initiatives that scale merchant support and satisfaction across markets.
  • • You will lead and inspire teams through ownership mentality, bias for action, and first-principles thinking, motivating cross-functional partners and direct reports to take initiative and deliver results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • • You will communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels — from executives to frontline operators — distilling technical and operational details into actionable summaries that drive alignment and decision-making.
  • • You will leverage AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and problem-solving, actively exploring and applying emerging technologies to streamline support workflows and enhance merchant interactions.
  • • You will build and execute plans to hit aggressive goals, operating with consistent focus, drive, and accountability, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and with measurable impact on merchant outcomes.
  • • You will draw on 6+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, banking, technology, or related fields, with a strong preference for candidates who have led teams or worked in high-growth, early-stage startups where scaling operations was critical.
  • • You will use SQL and Excel to pull, model, and analyze data independently, enabling you to uncover insights, test hypotheses, and support recommendations with quantitative rigor.
  • • You will bring experience launching finance, tax, or reporting products for customers, demonstrating your ability to design and roll out complex operational tools that solve real merchant pain points.
  • • You will demonstrate curiosity, problem-solving, and persuasive relationship-building, consistently challenging the status quo and adapting your communication style to build trust and alignment across diverse teams and organizational levels.
  • • You will thrive in DoorDash’s mission-driven culture, where empathy for merchants, Dashers, and consumers guides decision-making, and where you’ll have the autonomy to own your career while contributing to a company redefining local commerce beyond food delivery.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, banking, technology, or related fields; high-growth or early-stage startup experience and experience leading a team are a plus
  • • Strong analytical skills with comfort using SQL and Excel to pull, model, and analyze data independently; SQL experience is a strong plus
  • • Proven experience launching finance, tax, and/or reporting products for customers, with ability to design and execute complex operational solutions
  • • Ownership mentality, bias for action, and ability to think from first principles to inspire action and create the future
  • • Excellent communication skills — able to distill complex topics into clear summaries for stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbal
  • • Experience managing teams and driving large-scale, cross-functional initiatives

🏖️ Benefits
