  • • Manager of Business Development at Carwow Ltd leads a team of 5 Business Development Managers responsible for winning and onboarding independent motor dealers and franchise dealer groups to scale the company’s stock sourcing business in the UK.
  • • Day to day: Lead, coach, and develop the team through hands-on call listening and live pitch feedback; embed high-volume outreach processes (phone first, CRM-driven); own team productivity and first-buy targets; drive market share growth; identify and remove friction in dealer onboarding; collaborate with Account Management for seamless handover; lead recruitment and onboarding of top-tier hunter talent; navigate ambiguity in a fast-scaling environment while maintaining team morale and strategic clarity.
  • • About the team or company: Carwow Ltd is Europe’s largest online car-changing destination, having grown over 50% last year with nearly ÂŁ3bn in cars bought on site and ÂŁ1.8bn listed via Sell My Car. Following the 2024 acquisition of Autovia (AutoExpress and Evo magazines), the company now reaches over 350 million annual web users, has nearly 10m YouTube subscribers with 1.1bn annual views, and sells 1.2m print magazine copies yearly. The Business Development team is the 'engine room' of stock sourcing, critical to scaling partner acquisition and activation.
  • • What the person can learn or achieve in this role: Develop leadership expertise in scaling high-performance hunter teams in a fast-growth tech environment; deepen automotive industry knowledge and strategic commercial input; master data-driven sales processes using CRM tools; shape company-wide onboarding strategy; build a culture of resilience and celebration; advance career through coaching, L&D budget, and exposure to cross-functional leadership in a mission-driven, inclusive organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven leadership experience managing a sales or business development team, ideally in a high-volume 'hunter' environment
  • • Proficiency in Salesforce, Groove, or similar CRM tools to manage data-driven sales pipelines
  • • Demonstrated hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business through prospecting
  • • Ability to work from the London office at least 3 days per week for on-the-floor coaching and support
