  • • As the Manager, Sales Development for EMEA at Anthropic, you will be at the forefront of establishing and scaling our business development efforts across a dynamic and diverse region. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic leader who can build, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of 6-8 Business Development Representatives (BDRs), primarily based in Dublin, while navigating the unique complexities of the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets.
  • • Your primary mission will be to architect and implement robust, region-specific prospecting strategies. This involves a deep dive into the nuances of local market dynamics, cultural sensitivities, and competitive landscapes across various European territories, including but not limited to SEU, NEU, and DACH. You will need to demonstrate exceptional agility in adapting global sales initiatives to resonate effectively within these distinct markets.
  • • You will be a key partner to our Account Executives (AEs) and sales leadership, ensuring seamless alignment between pipeline generation efforts and overarching territory plans and revenue targets. This collaborative approach is crucial for driving predictable revenue growth and achieving ambitious business objectives.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve establishing and meticulously tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These metrics must not only reflect regional variations but also maintain a consistent global standard, providing clear visibility into team performance and identifying areas for optimization.
  • • You will be responsible for developing and deploying localized training programs and enablement materials. These resources must be culturally relevant and tailored to the specific business practices and communication styles prevalent in diverse European business environments, empowering your BDR team with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
  • • Building and nurturing strong relationships with regional marketing teams will be essential. This collaboration will focus on optimizing lead quality, refining campaign effectiveness, and ensuring a cohesive go-to-market strategy across EMEA.
  • • You will own and lead regional Pipeline Reviews with sales leadership, presenting insightful market-specific analysis, identifying emerging growth opportunities, and proposing strategic adjustments to capitalize on them.
  • • Navigating the intricate landscape of hiring and employment regulations across multiple European countries will be a critical responsibility. You will work closely with HR and Legal departments to ensure compliance and facilitate the smooth expansion of your team.
  • • Beyond team management, you will be a dedicated coach and developer for your BDRs. This includes mentoring them on region-specific prospecting techniques, honing their sales skills, and supporting their career progression within Anthropic.
  • • You will play an instrumental role in establishing Anthropic's regional presence, laying the groundwork for sustained, long-term growth and market penetration throughout the EMEA region. This involves understanding and articulating the value proposition of Anthropic's cutting-edge AI systems to a diverse range of potential clients.
  • • Your ability to support all sales segments—from agile startups to large commercial enterprises—will be vital. You must be adept at shifting resources and strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities within specific markets or customer segments.
  • • You will contribute to the continuous refinement of our sales processes, ensuring they are both effective in the EMEA context and scalable for future growth. This includes providing feedback on tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • • This role demands a proactive and data-driven approach, leveraging insights from CRM data and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and drive performance improvements.
  • • You will be a cultural ambassador for Anthropic within the EMEA region, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.
  • • Ultimately, you will be accountable for the success of the BDR function in EMEA, directly impacting Anthropic's ability to expand its reach and deliver its transformative AI solutions to customers across the region.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3-6 years of experience managing sales development or inside sales teams specifically within the EMEA region.
  • • Proven track record of successfully growing and scaling sales development teams across multiple European countries and offices.
  • • Experience managing distributed teams across different time zones and diverse cultural backgrounds within EMEA.
  • • Strong understanding of business practices, sales cycles, and decision-making processes in key EMEA markets.
  • • Deep understanding of relevant European regulations such as GDPR, the EU AI Act, and other compliance requirements impacting enterprise sales.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively across diverse European cultures.

  • • Opportunity to build and lead a foundational sales development team in a rapidly growing, cutting-edge AI company.
  • • Generous vacation and parental leave policies.
