- • Develop and execute a statewide strategy for school-based programming that advances the goals of the Children and Families Specialty Plan (CFSP) for children and youth in foster care.
- • Serve as the organizational lead for strategies related to educational rights and educational stability for children and youth in foster care, ensuring compliance with federal and state educational protections.
- • Identify policy, practice, and operational barriers that negatively impact educational outcomes for children and youth engaged in the child welfare system.
- • Establish short- and long-term outcomes for CFSP-enrolled children and youth, and develop performance metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of school-based initiatives.
- • Lead the development of innovative programs addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and educational needs within school settings for foster care populations.
- • Collaborate with child welfare agencies, local educational agencies, and state-level partners to identify and address educational disparities and improve outcomes.
- • Lead, hire, and oversee a team responsible for implementing school-based strategies and statewide Department of Social Services (DSS) initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- • Advise senior leadership on program performance, emerging challenges, industry trends, and strategic opportunities related to school-based and DSS initiatives.
- • Act as a technical resource for team members, providing guidance on programs of varying complexity and ensuring adherence to corporate and industry standards.
- • Manage team prioritization, work processes, and documentation to ensure consistent delivery and reporting in compliance with organizational requirements.
- • Lead employee development initiatives including coaching, performance feedback, and training to build capacity and support professional growth within the team.
- • Oversee regionally based DSS Liaisons and support statewide DSS initiatives to strengthen cross-sector coordination for children and families in foster care.
- • Work within a Remote Flex model, requiring virtual work with a few in-office visits per year for meaningful in-person collaboration.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (where required), or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- • 8+ years of experience in a related field
- • Experience in educational policy, child welfare systems, and cross-sector collaboration
