📋 Description

• The Managing Director – Private Equity Insurance role at Howden Private Capital is a senior commercial leadership position responsible for originating, structuring, and executing complex insurance solutions for private equity clients, directly supporting M&A transactions, portfolio management, and fund-level strategies.
• Day to day, the role involves leading new business origination with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, advising on transaction insurance placements (including RWI, tax, and contingent risk), managing end-to-end deal execution from pre-signing structuring to post-close advisory, and driving cross-selling across Howden’s structured credit and portfolio solutions.
• The role sits within Howden Private Capital, a leading specialist insurance broker within Howden, a global employee-owned insurance group with 24,000 employees across 56 countries, known for its innovative risk transfer solutions and strong culture of collaboration and empowerment.
• The person in this role will develop deep expertise in private equity insurance markets, build and leverage C-suite relationships across the M&A ecosystem, lead and mentor junior professionals, and position Howden as a market leader through product innovation and strategic advisory excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in transactional insurance (RWI, tax, contingent risk) OR investment banking/private equity with strong insurance exposure
• Proven track record of originating and closing complex, high-value transactions
• Deep relationships within the private equity and M&A ecosystem
• Strong understanding of deal structures, purchase agreements, risk allocation in transactions, and insurance market dynamics
• Experience working with global insurance carriers and underwriting processes (preferred)
• Background in law, finance, or accounting (preferred)
