- • Lead the development and execution of a world-class marketing function from the ground up for OP Labs, reporting directly to the Chief Brand Officer.
- • Build and strengthen brand awareness and positioning for the OP Stack, the open-source blockchain infrastructure powering over 65% of Layer 2 activity on Ethereum.
- • Translate complex technical capabilities of the OP Stack into compelling, differentiated narratives for diverse audiences including enterprises, developers, and investors.
- • Design and implement multi-channel marketing strategies spanning brand, product, developer, enterprise, and event marketing to drive adoption and engagement.
- • Craft go-to-market playbooks and demand generation campaigns targeted at institutional customers such as Sony, Coinbase, Kraken, Uniswap, OKX, and Bitpanda.
- • Engage and grow the global builder community through educational content, strategic partnerships, and developer-focused initiatives.
- • Own a consistent brand voice across all communications directed at prospective and existing customers, channel partners, integration collaborators, application builders, potential employees, external contributors, and token holders.
- • Forge strategic partnerships with Growth, Product, and Data teams to align marketing initiatives with product roadmap and user growth metrics.
- • Amplify OP Labs’ brand presence through targeted participation and leadership in industry conferences, hackathons, and owned events.
- • Shape the public narrative around the future of financial infrastructure and Ethereum scaling to reflect the momentum and innovation within the OP ecosystem.
- • Build and lead a lean, high-performing marketing team capable of executing across technical, enterprise, and community-focused channels.
- • Maintain deep alignment with the values and vision of the Optimism collective, including its commitment to open-source, decentralization, and long-term ecosystem growth.
- • Ensure all marketing efforts reflect the technical sophistication and community-driven ethos of the OP Stack while remaining accessible to non-technical audiences.
- • Collaborate with internal teams to develop messaging that resonates with both enterprise buyers and decentralized application builders.
- • Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics in the blockchain infrastructure space to inform strategic marketing decisions.
- • Represent OP Labs as a thought leader in the web3 space through public speaking, media engagement, and community outreach.
- • Maintain strict adherence to OP Labs’ communication protocols and security guidelines to prevent fraud and ensure authenticity in all external messaging.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading marketing teams at the executive level, ideally within web3 organizations
- • Ability to define and execute multi-channel strategies spanning brand, product, developer, and enterprise marketing
- • Demonstrated success strengthening brand awareness and shaping public narratives for innovative or technical products
- • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling, accessible narratives
- • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to rally internal and external stakeholders around a shared vision
- • A love for crypto — you understand and care about the user and developer journey and have an innate sense for how the space moves
