  • • **Shape the Future of Marketing Governance:** As Monzo enters its next phase of growth, we are committed to ensuring our marketing engine is not only fast and effective but also rigorously compliant. We are seeking a proactive and strategic Marketing Governance Lead to establish and own our central governance framework. This role is for a builder – someone who can meticulously execute day-to-day controls while simultaneously architecting a high-level strategy and infrastructure designed for global scalability. Currently, data compliance and governance can feel fragmented or like an afterthought. You will be instrumental in transforming this by embedding regulatory expertise directly into our creative process, acting as the crucial operational bridge between marketing and our world-class Legal and Risk partners. Your goal is to ensure that by the time a campaign reaches compliance, it is already robust, well-evidenced, and ready for launch, shifting Monzo from a reactive stance to a proactive strategy that actively unlocks growth.
  • • **Architecting a Robust Governance Framework:** You will be responsible for designing and implementing the end-to-end governance workflow for all marketing activities and approvals. This will involve close collaboration with our Risk & Control Partners to create audit-ready processes and procedures that embed compliance by design into every campaign. This includes developing and maintaining a comprehensive claims matrix for Financial Promotions (FinProms), ensuring every statement made by Monzo is substantiated, verifiable, and adheres strictly to FCA rules, making you the primary owner for adherence to these critical regulations.
  • • **Empowering Marketing with Proactive Compliance:** A key aspect of your role will be to act as an effective pre-filter, resolving routine FinProms and data-related queries directly within the marketing team. This will ensure that only complex, high-value decisions are escalated to our legal, risk, and compliance partners, optimising their time and accelerating campaign deployment. You will also play a vital role in fostering a healthy risk culture across Monzo. This involves developing and delivering training programs for the marketing team, reframing compliance not as a barrier to creativity, but as an essential safety rail that enables faster, more confident execution.
  • • **Driving Customer Engagement through Consent Management:** Beyond policing permissions, you will proactively develop and implement innovative strategies to increase customer opt-ins and engagement. You will approach consent management as a strategic product, focusing on maximising our marketable customer base and enabling personalised marketing efforts that respect customer preferences and privacy.
  • • **Bridging Marketing Technology and Compliance:** You will serve as the key business partner for our backend engineering and MarTech teams. This involves defining the precise requirements and necessary tooling for effectively handling customer data, managing preference centres, and ensuring all marketing technology infrastructure aligns with governance and regulatory standards.
  • • **Navigating Global Expansion and Third-Party Risk:** As Monzo expands into new European markets, you will lead the critical regulatory setup for marketing activities in these geographies. This will require navigating diverse and evolving regulations to build a scalable, adaptable policy approach for successful market entry. Furthermore, you will manage the risk lifecycle for all third-party agencies and media vendors, working closely with the Data Protection Office (DPO) to ensure all CRM programs and external partnerships align with legal standards and data privacy requirements.
