  • • Join Handshake Technologies, Inc. as a Mechanical Drafter - AI Trainer, a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in 2D technical drafting to shape the future of Artificial Intelligence. This role is designed for individuals with a strong background in using LibreCAD and QCAD CE, offering flexible, hourly contract work that can be seamlessly integrated with your existing commitments.
  • • As an AI Trainer, you will play a crucial role in advancing AI research by evaluating AI-generated technical content. Your practical experience with industrial schematics, manufacturing blueprints, and 2D technical drafting will be instrumental in providing feedback that guides AI models to better comprehend and execute complex technical drafting tasks and manufacturing workflows.
  • • This is an ongoing, project-based engagement, providing a dynamic and adaptable work environment. It's an ideal opportunity for those seeking to apply their specialized skills in a novel context, contributing to cutting-edge AI development without the constraints of a traditional full-time employment structure.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in using LibreCAD or QCAD CE, coupled with practical experience in roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Drafter, CNC Programmer, Industrial Designer, Technical Illustrator, or CAD Drafter. Your proficiency in these areas will be directly applied to the core responsibilities of this role.
  • • Key responsibilities will involve creating targeted questions for AI tools and meticulously reviewing AI-generated responses. This evaluation process focuses on ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and practical applicability of the AI's output in real-world technical drafting and manufacturing scenarios.
  • • You will be tasked with annotating and labeling technical drawings and manufacturing assets, ensuring clarity and precision. Furthermore, your role will extend to reviewing technical drafts for critical aspects such as accuracy, tolerancing, and overall design consistency, directly contributing to the refinement of AI capabilities.
  • • While no prior AI or technical training experience is required, a strong understanding of 2D technical drafting concepts, mechanical schematics, and manufacturing workflows is essential. Your ability to translate real-world drafting knowledge into actionable feedback for AI systems will be paramount.
  • • This position offers a unique chance to work remotely from anywhere within the USA, provided you have a reliable internet connection and a functional desktop or laptop computer. The work schedule is highly flexible and asynchronous, meaning you can set your own hours and work when it's most convenient for you, with no minimum hour requirement.
  • • Many contributors find they can comfortably dedicate approximately 5–20 hours per week to active projects, making this an excellent supplementary income source or a way to stay engaged in your field on your own terms.
  • • The Handshake AI program operates year-round, ensuring a continuous stream of potential projects. Opportunities become available periodically across various areas of expertise, and your placement will depend on current project needs. You will be considered for future projects as they arise, offering long-term engagement possibilities.
  • • This role is classified as an independent contractor position, distinct from a full-time employee role. This classification allows for greater autonomy and flexibility in how and when you work.
  • • For F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT, there may be opportunities to participate in projects on Handshake AI. It is crucial to consult with your Designated School Official to determine your specific eligibility, as Handshake AI may not meet all school requirements for CPT courses, and STEM OPT is not supported.
  • • By contributing your drafting skills, you will directly impact the development of advanced AI tools, helping to bridge the gap between human expertise and machine learning in the technical design and manufacturing sectors. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of AI innovation, applying your established skills in a groundbreaking field.
