- ⢠The Medical Director/Sr Medical Director, Neuroscience role at Novartis AG provides critical input into strategic, tactical, and budget planning for neuroscience products, with a focus on neuromuscular diseases, driving collaboration across Global, US Medical, US Commercial, and cross-functional partners.
- ⢠Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as the medical lead for assigned neuroscience programs, supporting Medical Affairs activities in line with the Integrated Product Strategy Team, acting as a key member of the cross-functional Medical Strategy Team, working with secondary data analytics teams to incorporate AI in medical tactics, exploring innovative communications solutions via digital channels, supporting Investigator-Initiated Trial programs, leading Research Collaborations, co-developing medical engagement plans, fostering relationships with National, Regional, and Local Medical Experts and Investigators, driving advisory boards, collaborating with Commercial on promotional material development and field force training, and leading insights across medical functions, clinical care gaps, outcomes, and strategy for NOGE.

- ⢠In this role, the individual will develop leadership expertise in medical affairs strategy, gain deep experience in neuroscience therapeutic areasâparticularly neuromuscular diseasesâenhance skills in cross-functional leadership, medical communication, clinical trial design and execution, advisory board management, and real-world evidence generation, while building a track record of driving complex medical initiatives to completion in a dynamic, global pharmaceutical environment.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Doctorate level degree (MD, PharmD, DO, or PhD in Health Sciences or related field) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physicianâs Assistant (PA) degree with significant relevant clinical experience
- ⢠>5 yearsâ experience in progressively senior roles within clinical development and/or medical affairs in biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic/clinical settings
- ⢠Clinical research experience including concept and protocol development in a pharmaceutical or equivalent environment (preferred)
- ⢠Solid understanding of clinical trial operations and experience driving patient recruitment solutions (preferred)
- ⢠Strong track record of positive, productive interactions with Medical Experts and Investigators, and demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with external medical stakeholders
- ⢠Demonstrated ability to drive and manage complex projects to completion with urgency while managing multiple priorities
- ⢠Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple cross-functional teams
- ⢠Demonstrated problem-solving skills, comfort with complexity, and strong strategic, analytical, and conceptual thinking
- ⢠Medical Degree (MD) or equivalent (preferred)
- ⢠Established relationships with Medical Experts and Professional Societies in the Neuroscience space (preferred)
