  • • Design and implement novel self-supervised learning methods for training foundation models tailored to multi-modal clinical data.
  • • Translate peer-reviewed machine learning research papers into production-ready, scalable code for clinical AI applications.
  • • Build robust, automated model evaluation frameworks to measure performance across diverse clinical datasets and use cases.
  • • Co-author and submit research papers and abstracts to top-tier conferences such as ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, and CVPR.
  • • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of machine learning engineers, data scientists, and clinical researchers.
  • • Co-mentor junior engineers and researchers on best practices in model development, evaluation, and deployment.
  • • Develop foundation models for digital pathology, including Falcon and Kestrel, to predict patient outcomes and treatment responses.
  • • Apply deep learning techniques to survival analysis, multi-modal learning, domain adaptation, causal inference, and model interpretability in clinical contexts.
  • • Work with complex, heterogeneous clinical data including histopathology images, genomic profiles, electronic health records, and treatment histories.
  • • Ensure model reliability and clinical validity by aligning development with standards required for deployment in academic institutions and community clinics worldwide.
  • • Contribute to the development of clinical products such as Ataraxis™ Breast, which guides oncologists in selecting optimal treatments for breast cancer patients.
  • • Operate within a flat organizational structure where initiative and consistent delivery directly influence leadership opportunities.
  • • Prioritize ruthlessly and maintain a strong work ethic to advance high-impact AI research under tight deadlines.
  • • Engage with foundational AI research areas including representation learning, causality (Ataraxis™ Tau), and computational pathology.
  • • Maintain rigorous attention to detail in both algorithmic design and clinical application to ensure patient safety and regulatory alignment.

🎯 Requirements

  • • PhD degree in machine learning or statistics
  • • Excellent skills in Python and PyTorch
  • • Experience in deep learning and self-supervised learning
  • • Passion for research, attention to detail, and ability to drive tasks to completion
  • • Strong preference for publications in A* conferences (e.g., ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, CVPR)
  • • Excellent understanding of core machine learning concepts and foundations of statistics, linear algebra, and probability
