📋 Description
- • Prepares and reviews Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentive claims in collaboration with operational teams.
- • Leads the preparation and execution of income, indirect, and transaction tax audits.
- • Supports income tax compliance and reporting requirements for Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions.
- • Assists with ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
- • Maintains financial records in compliance with U.S. GAAP and Canadian GAAP, as applicable.
- • Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls by maintaining process control narratives and documenting procedures.
- • Reviews, maintains, and prepares detailed journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for general ledger accounts.
- • Prepares and files indirect tax returns (GST/QST) for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods.
- • Reconciles tax-related general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial statements.
- • Analyzes expenses to ensure accurate coding, proper accruals, and resolution of accounting discrepancies.
- • Facilitates collaboration with General Ledger team members, international accounting personnel, and cross-functional departments.
- • Integrates new accounting standards and regulatory requirements into company policies and implementation workflows.
- • Maintains a thorough understanding of the Oracle Fusion general ledger and sub-ledger systems to support accurate financial reporting.
- • Ensures timely completion of year-end audits by providing all required deliverables and responding to auditor inquiries.
- • Participates in meeting statutory reporting requirements as requested by regulatory authorities.
- • Works with confidential and sensitive financial data while maintaining strict confidentiality and data integrity.
- • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills in managing multiple accounting deliverables simultaneously.
- • Proactively identifies process improvements and adapts to evolving accounting policies, systems, and regulatory changes.
- • Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on accounting controls, reporting timelines, and compliance obligations.
