  • • As a Manager of Quality & Safety, you will lead and drive quality, regulatory, and clinical safety strategies for the Musculoskeletal Service Line, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory compliance while fostering innovation and excellence in patient care.
  • • Day to day, you will collaborate with senior leadership, analyze clinical data from sources like PROMIS, NSQIP, and Vizient, develop and maintain system-level dashboards, lead quality and safety initiatives, manage registry validation, conduct audits and trend analyses, facilitate quality councils, and oversee patient experience and safety programs across multiple hospital sites.
  • • You will be part of the University of Rochester’s Quality Improvement Department (500027), working within a mission-driven community committed to Meliora—Ever Better—with values of equity, leadership, integrity, openness, respect, and accountability, serving a broad network of clinical departments across SMH, HH, FF Th, FLH, NMH, JMH, and SJM.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in healthcare quality systems, regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, NYSDOH), data-driven performance improvement, patient safety methodologies (RCA, FMEA, lean), and leadership in cross-functional clinical environments, positioning yourself as a strategic leader in quality and safety innovation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent graduate training or experience
  • • 8 years of relevant work experience including substantial managerial experience, preferably in healthcare
  • • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • • Experience with quality assurance and quality improvement processes
  • • Experience with Joint Commission, CMS, and NYSDOH continuous survey readiness (preferred)
  • • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional In-Patient Safety (CPPS) desired
