• • As a Middle Office Manager (APAC), you will play a pivotal role in supporting Kraken's institutional trading and lending operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless execution of post-trade processes, encompassing settlement, reconciliation, and inventory management within your designated region. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with various internal teams and external counterparties to maintain operational excellence and deliver institutional-grade support.
• • You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, continuity, and efficiency of all institutional activities. This involves overseeing the entire trade lifecycle from capture to settlement, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Your work will directly impact the reliability and integrity of our institutional services, contributing to Kraken's reputation as a leader in the digital asset space.
• • Key responsibilities include executing and maintaining robust middle-office processes that support our Over-The-Counter (OTC), exchange, and lending activities. This entails ensuring precise trade capture, flawless settlement, and timely reconciliation for all regional institutional clients and counterparties. You will be the point person for resolving any trade breaks or exceptions, maintaining high data integrity across all systems, and upholding the highest operational best practices.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve monitoring digital asset and fiat balances across various custodians, trading venues, and wallets. This oversight is crucial for supporting our Trading and Treasury teams in optimizing inventory allocation and ensuring readiness for settlement. Your vigilance in this area will help mitigate risks and ensure smooth operational flows.
• • You will be expected to execute processes and workflows as defined by the global Head of Middle Office. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to identify inefficiencies within these processes and propose actionable improvements. Your contributions will be vital in the continuous enhancement of our operational infrastructure, driving greater efficiency and scalability as Kraken continues to grow.
• • Effective cross-functional coordination is paramount. You will partner closely with Trading, Treasury, Risk, Product, and Engineering teams to support new product launches, infrastructure upgrades, and system enhancements. A key part of this collaboration will be ensuring that regional specific needs are accurately accounted for within our global workflows, bridging the gap between local requirements and global operational standards.
• • This role requires a deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, from initial capture and allocation through to settlement, reconciliation, and exception management. You should be comfortable navigating the complexities of both digital asset and traditional financial markets. Your ability to coordinate effectively with custodians, venues, and counterparties, coupled with strong problem-solving skills, will be essential for success.
• • The ideal candidate possesses an institutional mindset, with prior experience supporting institutional clients or counterparties. This means an ability to handle urgency, complexity, and a high degree of precision in post-trade workflows. You should be comfortable operating in both crypto-native and traditional finance environments, demonstrating a passion for digital assets and a drive for operational innovation.
