📋 Description

• The Mortgage Sales Assistant at Bank of Montreal provides superior customer service and portfolio management in lending services, supporting specialists and relationship managers while ensuring compliance and operational excellence in a virtual environment.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing business proposals and client meeting documentation, analyzing data for insights, processing loan drawdowns, monitoring covenants and security collateral, handling client inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely transaction processing, and maintaining adherence to banking regulations, risk policies, and ethical guidelines.
• The role operates within BMO’s Wealth Sales & Service team, contributing to the bank’s purpose of ‘Boldly Grow the Good’ by supporting lending operations, mitigating risk, and enhancing client experiences through accurate, compliant, and efficient service delivery.
• In this role, the individual will develop expertise in mortgage lending processes, credit analysis, regulatory compliance (including S.A.F.E. Act requirements), risk management, and client relationship support, while gaining exposure to BMO’s risk framework and opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and profitability.

🎯 Requirements

• Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of personal and commercial credit products, lending processes, and supporting policies, including familiarity with credit qualification standards if applicable.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, collaboration, teamwork, and analytical/problem-solving skills, all rated as ‘Good’.
• Ability to obtain Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), including successful completion of a criminal background review and credit history evaluation.
