📋 Description
- • The Nursing Course Redevelopment SME – BSN is a part-time, remote role (10-15 hours per week) focused on revising and improving nursing course materials to enhance clarity, rigor, and clinical relevance, directly supporting student readiness for practice and alignment with NGN and competency-based education standards.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as a content expert in nursing specialties (e.g., pharmacology, medical-surgical, pediatrics), redeveloping course content and assessments, validating clinical accuracy, collaborating with instructional design and assessment teams, identifying outdated materials, and providing evidence-based feedback to support clinical judgment development.

- • In this role, the SME will deepen expertise in curriculum design, NGN-aligned assessment development, and evidence-based nursing education practices while contributing to the professional growth of future nurses and gaining experience in cross-functional academic product development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral preparation preferred
- • Active, unencumbered RN license required
- • Demonstrated expertise in one or more nursing specialty areas (e.g., pharmacology, medical-surgical, community and public health, fundamentals, chronic illness, pediatrics, geriatrics, maternal health)
- • Recent or current clinical experience strongly preferred
- • Experience teaching in a nursing program or serving as a subject matter expert in curriculum or course development
- • Familiarity with AACN Essentials (2021) and NCLEX/NGN expectations
- • Ability to apply clinical knowledge to support development of realistic, practice-based learning experiences
- • Experience reviewing or contributing to assessments (e.g., test items, case studies, performance-based evaluations) preferred
- • Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional design, assessment, and cross-functional teams
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills for providing clear, actionable feedback
- • Comfort working in structured, deadline-driven development environments
- • Ability to provide constructive input while remaining flexible and open to iteration
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clinical accuracy and evidence-based practice
