📋 Description

  • • As an Operational Engineer II at CSG Systems International, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between software development and seamless production deployment. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with Software Development teams, ensuring that all software output is not only functional but also operationally sound and ready for release into our production environments.
  • • You will be instrumental in preparing software for installation by meticulously running diagnostic tests. This involves vigilant monitoring and precise configuration of software throughout the testing cycle, with the ultimate goal of minimizing any potential impact during the transition to a live production setting. Your work directly contributes to the stability and efficiency of our software releases.
  • • This role demands a proactive approach to ensuring that all systems and equipment operate efficiently, effectively, and safely, directly supporting the overarching objectives of the organization. You will be a key player in maintaining the integrity and performance of our technological infrastructure.
  • • You will report directly to the Director of Software Development, contributing significantly to the build and deployment processes for a diverse range of application platforms and languages within our FSM (Field Service Management) team. Your expertise will help shape and refine our deployment strategies.
  • • A core aspect of your role will involve automating and continuously refining build and delivery processes. You will actively seek out and eliminate manual tasks, thereby increasing efficiency, reducing errors, and freeing up valuable developer and operational time for more strategic initiatives.
  • • You will be tasked with researching and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions that ensure our applications and services are reliable, scalable, and high-performing. This includes staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • • Developing and actively monitoring services, code quality, and artifacts will be a key responsibility. This involves setting up robust monitoring systems and analyzing the data to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
  • • A critical function of this role is to proactively identify threats to security, reliability, or performance. Once identified, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to eliminate these risks, safeguarding our systems and data.
  • • You will coordinate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure that the team's goals are effectively aligned with the broader organizational objectives. This requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will be to improve automation across all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial development through release, operations, and ongoing maintenance. This includes incorporating advanced observability techniques and metrics analysis to expose performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • • You will be involved in the continuous improvement of our infrastructure, ensuring it can support the demands of our growing application portfolio. This includes working with infrastructure-as-code principles and cloud-native architectures.
  • • Your role will also involve troubleshooting and resolving complex operational issues that may arise in production environments, requiring a deep understanding of our systems and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • • You will contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for operational procedures, system configurations, and deployment processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistency within the team.
  • • By ensuring the operational readiness and stability of our software, you will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the overall success of CSG's product offerings. Your work is fundamental to delivering reliable services to our clients.
