- • HALA Systems Inc. is a pioneering fintech leader in the MENAP region, dedicated to revolutionizing financial services and building the future bank for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). We empower SMEs by equipping them with state-of-the-art financial and technological tools to seamlessly start, manage, and expand their businesses. With a growing presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, including entities like HALA Payments and HALA Logistics, we provide merchants with comprehensive solutions for digitizing payments and optimizing sales and operational management. Established in 2017 and licensed by the Saudi Arabian Central Bank, HALA is at the forefront of financial innovation.
- • As an Operational Risk Assistant Manager at HALA, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company's operations and ensuring resilience. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust operational risk management and business continuity frameworks, aligning them with stringent regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role demands a proactive approach to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, ensuring that HALA can navigate potential disruptions effectively and maintain its commitment to service excellence.
- • Your primary responsibilities will involve the meticulous identification and ongoing monitoring of operational risks. You will leverage key risk indicators (KRIs), conduct regular Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), and maintain a comprehensive register of all loss events. This data-driven approach will enable you to pinpoint potential vulnerabilities and proactively address them before they escalate.
- • A significant part of your role will be dedicated to managing the Losses Register, where you will meticulously document, analyze, and report on all operational losses. This includes conducting thorough risk and impact assessments, which are critical for understanding the potential consequences of identified risks. Furthermore, you will be responsible for performing Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to understand the criticality of various business functions and their dependencies, informing our recovery strategies.
- • You will be a key architect in developing, testing, and maintaining our Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs). This involves not only creating these vital documents but also ensuring their effectiveness through regular testing and validation exercises. Coordinating and facilitating Business Continuity Management (BCM) drills will be essential to ensure that all stakeholders are prepared to respond effectively in the event of a disruption.
- • The role requires a keen eye for detail in reviewing contracts and other business agreements to identify and assess associated risks. You will also be responsible for developing and updating risk and BCM policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current, relevant, and compliant with evolving regulatory landscapes and internal standards.
- • Continuous monitoring of the organization's risk and BCM readiness is paramount. You will be expected to provide regular, clear, and concise reports on key risk and BCM issues to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning. Your insights will be vital in shaping the company's risk appetite and resilience strategies.
- • A critical aspect of this position involves fostering a strong risk-aware culture throughout HALA. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective risk and BCM awareness and training programs to employees across all levels of the organization. This proactive educational approach is fundamental to embedding risk management principles into our daily operations.
- • You will also provide essential support during regulatory reviews, internal and external audits, and inspections. This involves preparing documentation, responding to queries, and demonstrating compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining HALA's strong reputation with regulators and auditors.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the stability and growth of a leading fintech company in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market. You will work within a supportive and innovative environment, collaborating with a diverse team to build a more resilient and secure future for HALA and its SME customers.
