- • As Operations Director at Howden, you will lead the operating model, performance, and business transformation agenda within a global insurance group of 24,000 employees across 56 countries, ensuring efficiency, control, and scalability while driving strong client and commercial outcomes.
- • Day to day, you will be accountable for the overall effectiveness of the operating model, lead end-to-end transformation initiatives, drive technology and AI adoption, oversee integration of acquired businesses, own operational performance and cost base, provide oversight of operational risk and resilience, and lead and develop the Operations leadership team.
- • You will sit at the centre of business execution, working closely with the CEO, CFO, and Transformation leadership in a complex, regulated insurance broking environment, contributing to Howden’s employee-owned culture rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a no-limits mindset.
- • In this role, you will achieve measurable impact by delivering operational cost and efficiency targets, sustaining improvements in service and client outcomes, executing transformation with realised benefits, strengthening risk and control environments, and building a high-performing, engaged Operations function aligned to strategic priorities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven senior operations leadership experience within a complex, matrixed organisation, ideally within insurance broking environment
- • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate strategic objectives into operational delivery and measurable outcomes
- • Track record of delivering business transformation and operational improvement at scale, including leading cross-functional change and managing competing priorities
- • Highly developed data literacy, using insight to drive performance and decision-making
- • Credibility and presence to operate at executive level, with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders
- • Pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, balancing pace, control and long-term value
