đź“‹ Description

  • • Embark on a pivotal engineering journey with Skynrg at the forefront of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production as an Operations Engineer for the groundbreaking DSL-01 facility in Delfzijl.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with tangible operational impact, engaging in the construction, troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement of a state-of-the-art industrial plant from its inception.
  • • You will be instrumental in shaping the operational readiness of the facility, working across three critical phases: pre-startup, commissioning and startup, and ongoing commercial operations.
  • • **Until Ready for Startup (RFSU):** You will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager, providing essential operational and engineering insights to ensure the facility is fully prepared for commencement.
  • • This includes aligning and refining the Commissioning & Startup (CSU) plan in partnership with technology licensors and construction teams, contributing to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supporting the establishment of the Asset Management plan with maintenance partners.
  • • Your input will be vital in guiding the Operator Training Simulator (OTS) developer and laboratory partners, ensuring seamless integration of control room and laboratory functions with the overall process design and operational philosophy.
  • • The ultimate goal during this phase is to guarantee that by the time DSL-01 is mechanically complete, all operational aspects are robustly ready for a smooth startup.
  • • **From RFSU through Commercial Operation Date (COD):** You will be actively involved in the critical commissioning and startup activities, including the supervision of catalyst loading, meticulous monitoring of process stability, and rigorous product quality control.
  • • Your efforts will directly contribute to the successful completion of the facility performance test within the first six months post-RFSU.
  • • This phase demands your expertise in troubleshooting complex process and equipment issues, fostering strong collaboration with operators and maintenance teams, and ensuring a safe and stable ramp-up of production.
  • • **From COD onwards:** Your focus will shift to the continuous enhancement of plant availability, maximizing the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and diligently minimizing energy and utility consumption.
  • • You will be responsible for identifying throughput limitations, leading strategic debottlenecking initiatives, and personally engineering minor modifications while overseeing contractors for larger-scale modifications or plant expansions.
  • • Beyond these core phases, you will drive the development and refinement of systems, equipment, and processes to elevate overall plant performance.
  • • Your analytical skills will be crucial in diagnosing and resolving a wide array of mechanical, electrical, and process-related challenges.
  • • You will monitor the reliability of critical rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers, to ensure operational integrity.
  • • Support will be provided to feedstock development, including suitability assessments and the optimization of blending models, ensuring the efficient use of raw materials.
  • • Maintaining up-to-date specifications for feedstock procurement and processing will be a key responsibility.
  • • You will manage small to medium-sized capital projects, overseeing budgeting, scheduling, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.
  • • Active participation in Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOPs), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other safety reviews is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.
  • • You will also support investigations into safety or environmental incidents, implementing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement in safety protocols.
  • • This is a comprehensive plant engineering position situated at the dynamic intersection of operations, maintenance, safety, supply chain management, and continuous improvement within one of Europe's most innovative SAF facilities.
  • • You will be part of a team building a state-of-the-art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing directly to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
