- • As an Oromo Interpreter with LanguageLine Solutions, you will provide essential language access services that break down communication barriers for limited-English speakers across critical sectors including healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency response.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include handling on-demand telephone interpreting sessions between Oromo and English speakers, rendering accurate and culturally sensitive interpretations while maintaining professionalism, neutrality, and composure—especially during high-stress or emotionally charged calls such as 911 emergencies or medical consultations.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in both Oromo and English, including strong cultural competency and the ability to navigate regional accents and dialectal variations.
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation, with the ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations.
- • Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- • Access to a quiet, secure home workspace with a dedicated device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android) and a reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, <300 ms ping, <30 ms jitter).
- • Ability to type or write with sufficient manual dexterity and to remain seated and focused at a computer for extended periods.
