📋 Description

• As an Outpatient Facility SDS Coding Specialist at CorroHealth, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate medical coding for outpatient facility services, directly impacting client reimbursement and financial health outcomes. Your expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS coding will support accurate revenue capture and compliance with regulatory standards, making you an essential contributor to the company’s mission of helping clients exceed their financial health goals.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include working independently from a remote home office to assign precise diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient facility SDS charts, calculating facility E/M levels using proprietary algorithms, identifying critical care cases based on patient acuity, and coding surgical procedures typical of emergency room settings to maximize appropriate revenue. You will apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity, interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment, and ensure alignment with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and CorroHealth’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• You will actively participate in company-provided training and education to maintain coding proficiency, comply with all internal policies and procedures, and uphold privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, to protect confidential patient information. Maintaining current coding credentials through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is required, along with consistent productivity and quality scores of 95% or higher.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in outpatient facility coding, refine your ability to interpret complex documentation and coding guidelines, and strengthen your proficiency in healthcare reimbursement systems. You will gain experience with EMR and billing platforms, improve your analytical and decision-making skills under deadlines, and advance your professional credibility through maintained certifications and high-quality coding output—positioning you for continued growth in health information management and revenue cycle operations.

🎯 Requirements

• Current certification through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
• Minimum of 2 years of paid work experience coding outpatient facility SDS charts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions and email/meeting management
