  • • As a Paid Search Manager at Forbes Advisor, you will be a pivotal member of the Performance Marketing team, dedicated to driving the success of one of Forbes' key business verticals. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend the dynamic, fast-paced environment of a start-up with the stability and resources of an established, globally recognized company. Reporting directly to the SEM Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing Forbes Advisor's paid search strategy, ensuring we meet and exceed our performance objectives.
  • • You will be accountable for achieving ambitious performance targets within your designated channel. This involves not only meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) but also proactively analyzing campaign data to understand performance fluctuations. A critical part of your role will be to articulate these variances to leadership and other stakeholders through clear, concise management commentary and presentations, demonstrating your ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • • A core aspect of this position is your ability to lead and inspire a team. You will direct and support your search specialists, empowering them to identify and implement the most effective tactics and approaches to achieve our commercial priorities. This leadership extends to defining both short-term tactical plans and long-term strategic roadmaps, ensuring their successful implementation with the dedicated support of your direct reports.
  • • Collaboration and innovation are key. You will work closely with your team to develop a robust testing roadmap for your categories. This includes identifying new opportunities, designing and executing experiments, and ensuring that successful strategies are rapidly scaled and effectively communicated across the wider team. Your proactive approach to testing and optimization will be crucial for continuous improvement.
  • • Staying ahead of the curve is essential in the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape. You will be expected to keep abreast of the latest search engine algorithm updates, PPC industry trends, and emerging best practices. This knowledge will inform your strategic decisions and ensure Forbes Advisor remains at the forefront of paid search innovation.
  • • Leveraging data-driven insights is paramount. You will utilize advanced analytics to identify performance opportunities, diagnose issues, and make data-backed recommendations for optimization. This analytical rigor will be applied to all aspects of campaign management, from keyword selection and bid management to ad copy creation and landing page optimization.
  • • You will play a key role in developing your team's capabilities. This includes reviewing and advising your team on findings from monthly account audits, ensuring that all recommended actions are implemented promptly and effectively. You will foster an environment where innovative ideas are encouraged, challenging existing best practices and driving forward new ways of thinking.
  • • Building strong, collaborative relationships with the Business Development team is vital. You will work hand-in-hand with them to enhance and grow our owned categories, ensuring that paid search efforts are tightly aligned with broader business objectives and contribute directly to revenue growth.
  • • In terms of capability development, you will directly manage one or more search specialists. This involves providing consistent guidance, constructive feedback, and performance reviews through regular one-on-one meetings and formal performance assessments. You will cultivate a strong coaching and development mindset within your team, leading by example and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • • You will be responsible for determining the optimal balance between day-to-day commercial activities and long-term capability development initiatives, such as strategic roadmap testing. This strategic foresight will ensure the team is not only meeting immediate goals but also building for future success.
  • • You will deliver or facilitate training and development sessions for your team, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Setting clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and conducting quarterly reviews will ensure alignment and accountability, driving individual and team performance.
  • • Ultimately, you will ensure that your team consistently manages their paid search accounts to the highest possible standard, embodying professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to excellence in all their endeavors.
