đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Global Partner Director for the McKinsey Alliance, you will be the singular executive accountable for the strategic growth and operational success of OpenAI's critical partnership with McKinsey & Company. This pivotal role is designed to cultivate a deeply integrated alliance that leverages McKinsey's extensive global reach and deep industry expertise to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and drive significant commercial outcomes for both organizations.
  • • You will be instrumental in defining the overarching strategic direction for the McKinsey alliance, establishing a robust and scalable operating model, and translating strategic alignment into tangible, measurable results across diverse regions and industries. This involves a comprehensive understanding of OpenAI's mission and product suite, as well as McKinsey's consulting methodologies and client engagement strategies.
  • • A core responsibility will be to serve as OpenAI's senior executive counterpart to McKinsey's global leadership. This includes engaging with relevant practice leaders, technology executives, and senior decision-makers within McKinsey and its specialized arms like QuantumBlack, fostering strong relationships built on mutual trust and shared objectives.
  • • You will be responsible for setting joint priorities, proactively identifying and resolving escalations, and ensuring seamless, coordinated execution of alliance initiatives across both OpenAI's and McKinsey's global and regional teams. This requires exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves shaping and leading co-selling efforts for complex, C-suite level enterprise AI transformation opportunities. You will work collaboratively with McKinsey partners to identify, pursue, and close transformative deals that leverage AI to solve critical business challenges for enterprise clients.
  • • You will engage directly with enterprise executives, including CEOs, CDOs, CIOs, CTOs, and Board members, alongside McKinsey partners. This engagement will focus on framing AI strategy, defining optimal operating models for AI integration, and demonstrating clear value realization for clients.
  • • To ensure comprehensive support for McKinsey-led strategic engagements and lighthouse opportunities, you will coordinate a diverse array of internal OpenAI stakeholders. This includes close collaboration with product management, research teams, go-to-market (GTM) functions, legal counsel, and communications departments to align resources and messaging.
  • • Establishing and rigorously enforcing clear guardrails is paramount. This includes defining and managing intellectual property (IP) rights, ensuring the highest quality of joint deliverables, and navigating potential conflicts of interest across all joint engagements and any co-developed assets.
  • • You will partner with McKinsey to define and execute vertical-specific strategies, identifying and prioritizing lighthouse accounts within key industries such as Financial Services, Pharma & Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Retail. This requires a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and AI's potential to address them.
  • • A key long-term objective is to build and lead a dedicated McKinsey alliance pod within OpenAI. This team will likely encompass specialized roles in partner management, technical leadership, enablement, and operations, all focused on maximizing the success of the alliance.
  • • You will establish and maintain durable reporting mechanisms, key performance indicators (KPIs), and a consistent operating cadence. This ensures continuous monitoring of alliance performance, facilitates data-driven decision-making, and drives ongoing improvement and optimization of the partnership.
  • • This role demands a proactive approach to pipeline growth, ensuring a steady stream of opportunities that leverage OpenAI's technology to deliver substantial enterprise impact and foster long-term expansion across priority sectors.
  • • Ultimately, you will be the driving force behind the health, performance, and strategic evolution of the McKinsey partnership, accountable for its success and its contribution to OpenAI's mission of advancing AI for the benefit of humanity.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Associate Partner / Principal or Partner-level experience at a top-tier management consulting firm (MBB preferred), or equivalent senior leadership experience within a leading strategy and transformation consultancy.
  • • A proven track record of successfully managing and scaling global, multi-year strategic partnerships with demonstrable executive accountability and measurable business outcomes.
  • • Deep expertise in enterprise AI, data, and cloud transformation, with the ability to engage credibly with C-suite executives (CEO, CIO, CTO, CDO) and understand their strategic priorities and challenges.
  • • Demonstrated success in shaping, influencing, and closing high-stakes, board-level enterprise transformation opportunities, requiring sophisticated negotiation and strategic selling skills.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to lead a high-impact, strategic global alliance with a leading consulting firm, directly contributing to the adoption of cutting-edge AI technology.
  • • Significant executive visibility and accountability, with direct engagement opportunities with C-suite leaders at both OpenAI and client organizations.
  • • The chance to shape the future of enterprise AI adoption and drive transformational change across major industries.
  • • Competitive compensation package including salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
