  • • The Patient Services Representative (Remote) handles inbound and outbound communications for up to six BMC ambulatory practices, serving as a key point of contact for patients seeking assistance with scheduling, medication reconciliation, insurance verification, and general inquiries.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include answering patient calls and messages via phone, email, chat, and fax; scheduling and rescheduling appointments using Epic; documenting patient interactions accurately; providing clear instructions for visits, labs, or imaging; and escalating complex issues to appropriate clinical staff when needed.
  • • The role is part of BMC Software, Inc.'s Ambulatory Call Center, a fully remote team dedicated to supporting patient access and care coordination across multiple outpatient practices, with a focus on empathy, efficiency, and adherence to HIPAA and hospital standards.
  • • In this role, the representative will develop strong healthcare communication skills, gain experience with electronic health record systems like Epic, improve problem-solving in patient service scenarios, and build expertise in navigating insurance and medication processes—positioning them for growth in healthcare administration or patient advocacy roles.

🎯 Requirements

  • • High school diploma or GED required
  • • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) with ability to communicate effectively with patients over phone, email, and other channels
  • • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer)
  • • Ability to empathize with patients and explain complex healthcare issues in a clear, compassionate manner
  • • Comfort using multiple communication tools including phone, online chat, email, fax, and mail
  • • Ability to document work professionally and efficiently
