As a critical member of our global payroll operations, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely execution of payroll for our employees in Guatemala and potentially other Latin American regions. This role demands a deep understanding of local payroll intricacies, tax regulations, and HR compliance, coupled with a proactive approach to process improvement and system optimization. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding the organization through complex payroll challenges and contributing to the seamless operation of our distributed workforce.
- • In this pivotal role, you will own the end-to-end payroll process for your designated region. This includes meticulous planning, execution, and reconciliation of all payroll-related activities. You will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory deductions, taxes, and contributions are calculated and remitted accurately and on time, adhering strictly to Guatemalan labor laws and tax regulations. Your expertise will extend to managing involuntary deductions, supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes from a payroll perspective, and ensuring that all employee data is accurately reflected in our payroll systems.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve collaborating with internal teams, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to provide expert insights on local payroll and HR matters. You will act as a key point of contact for employees and clients, addressing complex payroll and HR-related inquiries with clarity and professionalism. Your ability to translate intricate payroll concepts into understandable terms will be crucial in fostering trust and ensuring employee satisfaction.
- • You will also play a vital role in evaluating and selecting appropriate payroll software solutions, ensuring they align with Deel's technological requirements and enhance our operational efficiency. This includes assessing existing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and potentially participating in the implementation of new payroll technologies. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping our payroll infrastructure and driving innovation in how we manage global payroll.
- • Continuous process improvement will be a core focus. You will be tasked with assessing and enhancing our rapid growth processes and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant and scalable. This involves staying abreast of all relevant local regulatory and policy changes, proactively communicating these changes across relevant teams, and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and operational excellence. Your vigilance in monitoring legislative updates will safeguard the company against potential risks and ensure we remain at the cutting edge of payroll best practices.
- • Beyond day-to-day execution, you will contribute to the strategic development of our payroll function. This may involve participating in projects related to system implementations, process automation, and the expansion of our payroll services into new markets. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet strict deadlines will be essential in navigating the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing global company.
- • Deel is committed to providing a world-class experience for our global workforce. As a Payroll Expert, you will embody this commitment by ensuring that every employee in your region receives accurate pay, benefits, and support. You will be a champion for compliance, accuracy, and efficiency, directly contributing to Deel's mission of unlocking global opportunity for every person, team, and business. Your work will have a tangible impact on the lives of our employees and the success of our company.
- • This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset and exceptional problem-solving skills. You will be empowered to take ownership of your responsibilities and drive impactful change within the organization. If you are passionate about payroll, dedicated to compliance, and eager to contribute to a company that is shaping the future of work, we encourage you to apply.
