  • • As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Deel, you will play a critical role in enabling global businesses to seamlessly transition to Deel’s unified payroll and HR platform, ensuring accurate data migration, compliant system configuration, and smooth go-live experiences for clients across 150+ countries. Your work directly supports Deel’s mission to unlock global opportunity by removing barriers to compliant, timely, and secure payroll for distributed teams.
  • • You will lead end-to-end payroll implementation projects from kickoff to sign-off, managing timelines, scope, stakeholder alignment, and technical execution while serving as the trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients navigating complex global payroll onboarding.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and facilitating kickoff meetings, creating and maintaining detailed project plans, defining payroll process requirements aligned with local tax and labor laws, overseeing data migration from legacy systems, configuring system interfaces and reports, managing parallel payroll runs, conducting comprehensive testing, and driving go-live transition with client sign-off and documentation.
  • • You will act as the central communication hub for all payroll project matters, scheduling and leading weekly client status calls, identifying and escalating risks, dependencies, and issues, and ensuring regular reporting to senior leadership while maintaining autonomy in prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • • Collaboration is key: you will work closely with internal teams including onboarding, compliance, product, and engineering, as well as external client stakeholders in HR, finance, and operations to gather requirements, validate configurations, and ensure payroll processes meet both client needs and regulatory standards.
  • • You will implement change management strategies to support client teams through transitions, develop and execute testing plans to validate system accuracy, map GL reports where required, and produce audit-ready documentation and reconciliation reports to confirm payroll integrity post-migration.
  • • The role demands strong project management discipline, with expectations to deliver implementations on time and on budget, adapt to evolving client needs, and uphold Deel’s high standards for client satisfaction and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations
  • • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across designated EMEA locations
  • • Proven client-facing project management experience with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • • Experience with payroll systems and software, including data migration, system configuration, and testing
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred); PMP or similar certification is a plus
