- • Deel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Implementation Manager to spearhead the successful integration and data migration of our cutting-edge payroll systems for clients across India. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who thrives on managing complex projects, ensuring seamless transitions, and delivering exceptional client experiences. As a Payroll Implementation Manager, you will be the driving force behind the entire implementation lifecycle, from initial client onboarding and project setup to final sign-off and ongoing support. Your expertise will be crucial in guaranteeing that client data is migrated with utmost accuracy, systems are meticulously configured to meet specific needs, and the overall transition process is smooth and efficient.
- • You will collaborate extensively with a diverse range of internal teams, including onboarding specialists, HR, and finance departments, as well as external stakeholders, including Deel’s valued clients. Your primary responsibility will be to guide clients through the critical setup and migration phases, providing clear, professional, and expert advice. This includes managing project plans, conducting regular review calls, and ensuring all project streams are delivered on time and within scope. A key aspect of this role involves defining and configuring the agreed-upon client payroll processes, meticulously establishing all necessary payroll and data requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring that each client's payroll calendar is managed effectively and punctually, minimizing any potential disruptions.
- • A significant part of your role will involve maintaining comprehensive and detailed project documentation. This includes creating and updating project plans, generating regular status reports for senior leadership, and documenting all process flows and client-specific configurations. You will be instrumental in the system setup and the execution of parallel payroll runs, defining, agreeing upon, and configuring all interfaces, reports, and system settings to ensure a successful transition to live payroll. This meticulous preparation is vital for the smooth operation of payroll in the first and second months post-implementation.
- • The go-live transition phase is critical, and you will work closely with clients to secure project sign-off, ensuring all client-specific needs and processes are thoroughly documented and validated. Your responsibilities extend to generating reports that analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, ensuring accuracy and compliance. If required, you will also be responsible for mapping General Ledger (GL) reports to align with client accounting practices. This role demands a high degree of autonomy, requiring you to set your own priorities and manage projects effectively. Regular status reporting to senior leadership is essential, and you will be empowered to take ownership and escalate issues appropriately when necessary. Scheduling and leading weekly client calls to report on project status, identify risks, actions, issues, and dependencies will be a core part of your routine.
- • As a Project Management leader, you will manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your client management skills will be paramount as you gather key requirements, guide clients through the technical payroll aspects of onboarding with clarity and professionalism, and build strong, lasting relationships. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to thoroughly understand and document payroll requirements, ensuring that all implemented payroll processes strictly adhere to local tax and labor laws in India, and staying continuously updated on any legislative changes. Furthermore, you will oversee the critical data migration process from legacy systems to Deel’s global payroll platform, guaranteeing data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout. Developing and executing a comprehensive testing plan to identify and resolve any system issues is crucial for a seamless transition. Finally, you will implement effective change management strategies to ensure a smooth adoption of the new payroll system for both employees and HR teams, fostering a positive and efficient user experience.
