  • • As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Deel, you will be at the forefront of enabling global businesses to seamlessly integrate and manage their payroll operations across diverse international landscapes. Your primary mission will be to orchestrate the successful implementation and meticulous data migration of payroll systems for Deel’s valued clients, ensuring a smooth, accurate, and compliant transition. This role demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of managing the entire lifecycle of a payroll implementation project from initiation to successful go-live and beyond.
  • • You will take ownership of the project setup phase, collaborating closely with Deel's dedicated onboarding team and clients to organize and lead impactful kick-off meetings. A key responsibility will be the creation, meticulous maintenance, and active management of comprehensive project plans, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within scope for the successful rollout of client payroll solutions.
  • • Client and project management will be central to your success. You will be expected to support and lead project review calls, both internally and with external stakeholders, effectively coordinating and driving progress across all project streams. This includes proactively identifying, managing, and communicating any changes to the scope of work or delivery schedule, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed.
  • • A deep understanding of payroll process requirements is essential. You will be responsible for defining and configuring the agreed-upon client payroll processes, meticulously establishing all necessary payroll and data requirements. Ensuring each client's payroll calendar is managed in a timely and effective manner, adhering to all deadlines and regulatory requirements, will be a critical aspect of your role.
  • • Documentation is paramount in this role. You will maintain detailed and up-to-date project documentation, encompassing project plans, regular status reports, and comprehensive process documentation. This ensures transparency, facilitates knowledge transfer, and provides a clear audit trail for all implementation activities.
  • • The system setup and parallel payroll process phase requires your expertise. You will define, agree upon, and configure all necessary interfaces, reports, and system configurations. This critical step ensures the successful delivery of parallel payroll runs and the smooth transition to live payroll for the initial months, guaranteeing accuracy and reliability.
  • • The go-live transition, sign-off, and final documentation are crucial milestones. You will work closely with the client to secure project sign-off, meticulously documenting all client-specific needs and processes. This ensures validation and confirmation of the project's successful implementation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for generating reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, ensuring the integrity of financial information.
  • • You will also be involved in the mapping of GL reports as required, ensuring seamless integration with clients' financial reporting systems.
  • • Effective communication is key. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll project-related matters for the client, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the implementation journey.
  • • This role is designed for an autonomous individual who can set priorities and manage projects effectively. Regular status reporting to senior leadership is a requirement, and you will be expected to take ownership of appropriately escalating issues when necessary. Scheduling and attending weekly client calls to report on project status, identifying and mitigating any risks, actions, issues, and dependencies, will be a core part of your routine.
  • • You will lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery, a testament to your project management prowess.
  • • Client management involves gathering key requirements to facilitate the onboarding process and guiding clients through the technical payroll aspects of onboarding in a professional, clear, and supportive manner.
  • • Requirements gathering will involve close collaboration with HR, Finance, and other internal and external stakeholders to comprehensively understand and document payroll needs.
  • • Ensuring compliance with all local tax and labor laws is non-negotiable. You will stay abreast of any changes and ensure all payroll processes adhere strictly to regulatory frameworks.
  • • Data migration oversight is critical. You will manage the secure and accurate migration of payroll data from legacy systems to the new global payroll system.
  • • Developing and executing a comprehensive testing plan to identify and resolve system issues will ensure a smooth transition to the new payroll system.
  • • Implementing effective change management strategies will guarantee a seamless transition for employees and HR teams, fostering adoption and minimizing disruption.
  • • Ultimately, you will be instrumental in empowering Deel's clients to navigate the complexities of global payroll with confidence, driving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
