  • • As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Deel, you will play a critical role in enabling global businesses to transition smoothly to Deel’s Local Payroll solution in the UK and Ireland, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence from day one.
  • • You will lead end-to-end payroll implementations for enterprise clients, translating complex regulatory requirements into configured system setups that support seamless, scalable, and compliant payroll operations across borders.
  • • Your work directly impacts client satisfaction and retention by ensuring first-time-right payroll runs, minimizing disruption, and building trust in Deel as a strategic payroll partner.
  • • Day to day, you will engage with UK and Ireland-based clients to conduct regional discovery sessions, analyzing their existing payroll structures, workforce compositions, and compliance obligations to identify configuration needs and optimization opportunities.
  • • You will create and maintain detailed implementation documentation, including functional specifications, configuration maps, data migration plans, and test scripts, ensuring knowledge is preserved and transferable across teams and client handoffs.
  • • You will configure Deel Local Payroll to align with country-specific rules, including tax codes, statutory deductions, benefit accruals, pay frequencies, and employee classifications, ensuring full adherence to HMRC and Revenue Commissioners regulations.
  • • You will design and execute data migration strategies, working closely with client IT and HR teams to extract, cleanse, map, and validate legacy payroll data, overseeing test migrations and sign-off processes to ensure data integrity.
  • • You will lead parallel payroll runs between legacy systems and Deel Local Payroll, investigating discrepancies, validating outputs, and coordinating resolution with payroll, tax, and finance stakeholders to achieve 100% accuracy before go-live.
  • • You will provide hands-on support during the client’s first live payroll run, troubleshooting issues in real time, liaising with Deel’s payroll operations and compliance teams, and ensuring timely, accurate payments to employees.
  • • You will manage a portfolio of concurrent client implementations, tracking timelines, billable hours, milestones, and risks, while proactively communicating status to internal stakeholders and clients to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • • You will collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and customer success teams to feed client insights back into product improvements, helping shape the evolution of Deel Local Payroll based on real-world implementation experience.
  • • You will continuously develop expertise in UK and Ireland payroll legislation, including RTI, auto-enrolment, holiday pay, and statutory leave, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor both internally and with clients.
  • • You will contribute to Deel’s mission of building the infrastructure for the future of work by ensuring that global companies can hire, pay, and comply with confidence in complex jurisdictions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom), Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate qualification or certification such as PMP is a plus.
  • • 3+ years of proven experience in payroll system implementation, preferably with exposure to UK and Ireland payroll environments.
  • • Strong understanding of UK and Ireland payroll laws, compliance standards, and statutory requirements including HMRC, Revenue Commissioners, RTI, auto-enrolment, and holiday pay regulations.
  • • Experience configuring and working with payroll software systems, including ability to translate client requirements into technical setups involving pay rules, earning/deduction codes, and security roles.
  • • Proven ability in client-facing project management, including stakeholder communication, timeline management, and issue resolution under pressure.
  • • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of leading data migration and parallel run activities to validate payroll accuracy.
