📋 Description
- • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees across the United States and Canada, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all payroll transactions to support audit readiness and operational transparency.
- • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and filing requirements in both the U.S. and Canada.
- • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for payroll systems, resolving technical issues, enforcing internal controls, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- • Collaborate with the People Team to manage benefits deductions, leaves of absence, and new hire onboarding configurations within the payroll platform.
- • Reconcile all payroll data including earnings, taxes, deductions, and liabilities, and produce detailed reports for Finance and executive leadership.
- • Stay current with evolving labor laws and payroll tax updates in both the U.S. and Canada to proactively maintain organizational compliance.
- • Conduct periodic audits of payroll records to ensure data integrity and respond effectively to internal or external audit requests.
- • Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding pay, tax withholdings, deductions, and payroll discrepancies with a high standard of customer service and confidentiality.
- • Partner with Corporate Accounting and Finance teams to align payroll activities with broader financial controls and reporting standards.
- • Maintain accurate records for year-end reporting, including preparation and issuance of U.S. W-2s and Canadian T4s.
- • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills—including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data validation—to analyze payroll data, identify anomalies, and support reporting needs.
- • Work with modern HRIS and payroll platforms to configure system settings, manage user access, and ensure seamless integration with benefits and timekeeping systems.
- • Act as the key liaison between employees, HR, and Finance to ensure a consistent and positive payroll experience across all locations.
- • Support the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting by providing insights and data-driven recommendations to improve payroll accuracy and operational scalability.
- • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards when handling sensitive employee compensation and personal data.
- • Contribute to the company’s mission by ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and on time, reinforcing trust in Forward Financing’s culture and values.
