📋 Description

  • Join CookUnity, a pioneering food platform that is revolutionizing how people eat and how chefs work, as a People Operations Coordinator. We are on a mission to empower chefs to nourish the world, delivering millions of fresh, ready-to-eat meals crafted with passion. This role is a critical component of our People team, dedicated to executing and refining People initiatives, providing exceptional internal support, and driving process improvements. Your contribution will be instrumental in shaping a positive and impactful employee experience, from the initial stages of onboarding and training through to feedback mechanisms and career development.
  • In this dynamic role, you will be the backbone of our People Operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of HR processes and contributing to a thriving workplace culture. Your ability to manage time effectively, communicate with clarity and precision, and coordinate complex workflows will be essential as you support various projects and engage with team members across all organizational levels.
  • **Compliance and Risk Management:** You will play a vital role in ensuring CookUnity adheres to all relevant employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and maintains necessary legal postings. This includes meticulously maintaining audit-ready employee files and guaranteeing the utmost integrity of our HRIS data. You will partner closely with the People team to ensure all new hire documentation, such as I-9 records, meet stringent regulatory standards. Furthermore, you will support the management of workers' compensation cases and OSHA reporting, and assist with internal audits and compliance reviews to proactively mitigate organizational risks.
  • **Employee Relations and Manager Enablement:** Collaborate with HR Business Partners to effectively manage investigations, ensure thorough documentation, and support the implementation of performance improvement plans. You will conduct initial intake conversations, gathering crucial details to facilitate timely and fair case resolutions. A key aspect of this role involves coaching managers on policy interpretation, best practices for documentation, and conducting effective performance conversations. You will ensure the consistent application of company policies across the organization and know when to escalate high-risk matters appropriately. Additionally, you will facilitate performance cycles and champion accountability among all team members.
  • **Onboarding and Employee Lifecycle Support:** You will be responsible for executing a seamless, compliant, and welcoming onboarding experience for every new hire. This includes providing expert guidance on employment eligibility and documentation requirements, leading orientation meetings, and assisting managers with all necessary paperwork. You will also expertly manage all lifecycle changes, including promotions, transfers, and the meticulous documentation required for offboarding processes.
  • **HR Operations and Programs:** Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking information and support regarding benefits and company policies. You will coordinate the complex processes related to leaves of absence, ensuring all related documentation is managed accurately and efficiently. In partnership with our recruiting team, you will provide essential support for hiring coordination and interview scheduling. You will also manage operational aspects such as merchandise orders, logistics for in-person events, and the execution of employee engagement initiatives, contributing to a positive and connected work environment.
  • **Special Projects:** This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful special projects, including supporting the coordination and logistics for in-person company events, managing employee merchandise orders and distribution, and assisting with the administration and coordination of employee benefits programs. Your involvement in these projects will directly contribute to enhancing the employee experience and operational efficiency of the People team.
