  • • As a People Operations Generalist at Buildout, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience for a fully remote, fast-growing SaaS company that empowers commercial real estate brokerages with AI-driven deal automation. Your work ensures that every touchpoint in the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—is seamless, compliant, and human-centered, directly supporting Buildout’s mission to scale its impact while maintaining a people-first culture.
  • • You will own and execute end-to-end onboarding operations, including pre-boarding coordination, equipment ordering, Rippling system setup, I-9 verification, background checks, and facilitating engaging day-one experiences; manage offboarding processes with care and compliance; support employees through life events such as leaves of absence, promotions, and role changes; and serve as a trusted, responsive point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring employees feel supported and informed at every stage.
  • • You will maintain the integrity of employee data across Rippling (HRIS) and internal systems, ensuring accuracy for payroll, benefits, and compliance; partner with Finance to prepare and validate payroll inputs each cycle, review changes, and support state tax and regulatory requirements; administer benefits programs by acting as the primary liaison for employee questions and vendor issue resolution; and continuously identify opportunities to automate workflows and leverage AI tools to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • • You will support remote work operations by coordinating equipment logistics, troubleshooting access and tool issues in partnership with the IT vendor, managing provisioning and deprovisioning across systems, and contributing to virtual workplace initiatives that foster connection—such as recognition programs, milestone celebrations, and culture-building activities—helping sustain engagement across a distributed team.
  • • You will partner closely with the Director of People Operations to refine and improve People Ops processes, taking initiative to identify gaps, propose solutions, and implement changes that enhance efficiency, clarity, and employee delight; gain deep exposure to HR systems, compliance, and remote work operations in a high-growth tech environment; and develop expertise in balancing operational rigor with empathy, positioning yourself for growth into broader People or HR leadership roles.
  • • You will contribute to a culture where people feel valued and empowered, embracing Buildout’s ethos of taking work seriously but not themselves too seriously—bringing humor, humility, and collaboration to everyday interactions while helping to preserve and strengthen the company’s quirky, supportive, and inclusive environment as it scales.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a related role with hands-on expertise in onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration
  • • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Rippling experience preferred) and comfort learning new HR and productivity tools quickly
  • • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in managing employee data, payroll inputs, compliance documentation, and confidential information
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, respond thoughtfully to employee inquiries, and collaborate effectively across remote teams
  • • Initiative-taking mindset: proactive in identifying process improvements, comfortable working autonomously, and adaptable to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment
