Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Own end-to-end design and execution of performance management systems, including mid-year and annual review cycles that are rigorous yet lightweight, ensuring they drive meaningful development without creating administrative burden.
- • Build and lead calibration processes to ensure fairness, consistency, and transparency in performance assessments across all teams and departments.
- • Design and manage the promotion and compensation review process, including bonus frameworks, eligibility criteria, and leveling definitions aligned with company growth stages.
- • Partner with managers to define clear, observable behaviors for each performance level, creating clarity on what "good" looks like at every stage of career progression.
- • Lead direct 1:1 coaching sessions with managers to improve their ability to give constructive feedback, navigate difficult conversations, and develop their direct reports effectively.
- • Develop and facilitate manager training programs and toolkits that equip leaders with practical skills for coaching, feedback, and performance dialogue — not just theory.
- • Establish a continuous feedback culture that extends beyond formal reviews, embedding regular coaching into the rhythm of daily work through tools, templates, and behavioral norms.
- • Identify high-potential employees and collaborate with leadership to design individualized development plans that align with both personal growth and organizational needs.
- • Maintain, optimize, and scale core HRIS systems and people operations workflows to support a growing team of 150–500 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability.
- • Analyze people data — including retention, engagement, performance trends, and manager effectiveness — to surface actionable insights and inform strategic leadership decisions.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for sensitive employee relations issues and performance escalations, applying sound judgment and discretion while upholding company standards.
- • Use AI tools fluently and intentionally to accelerate core HR workflows — from drafting performance frameworks and analyzing feedback sentiment to automating data reporting and researching best practices.
- • Design systems that are simple, durable, and understandable — avoiding bureaucratic overhead by ensuring managers can explain promotion criteria and review processes to their teams without training.
- • Operate as a trusted strategic partner to leadership, providing data-informed recommendations on people decisions while knowing when to escalate, adapt, or hold firm on principles.
- • Continuously measure the impact of people programs using meaningful metrics, not vanity indicators, ensuring initiatives drive real behavioral change and business outcomes.
- • Actively contribute to building a culture where growth is expected, feedback is normalized, and performance is recognized through fair, transparent, and timely processes.
- • Stay ahead of evolving enterprise HR practices in high-growth AI-driven companies, integrating insights from leading AI labs and peers to refine Tribe’s people operations model.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7–10 years of People Operations or HR experience with a strong focus on performance management and organizational development
- • Proven experience designing and running performance review, promotion, and compensation processes in a 150–500 person high-growth company
- • Demonstrated track record of coaching managers to improve feedback delivery and coaching effectiveness
- • Fluent, active use of AI tools as a core part of daily work — not as a novelty but to enhance efficiency and impact
- • High judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee data and performance escalations
- • Comfort with pulling, interpreting, and using HRIS and people analytics data to drive decisions
🏖️ Benefits
- • Work at the center of one of the most consequential moments in technology — shaping internal infrastructure for a category-defining AI company
- • Direct partnership with leadership, with visibility and influence over how the organization grows and evolves
- • Operate alongside world-class engineers, strategists, and practitioners who hold themselves to an unusually high standard
- • High-growth environment where ownership is real and the work is never routine
