📋 Description

• Manage end-to-end employment contracts, work permits, and visa processes for employees in Germany and internationally, including coordination of Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements
• Run and oversee monthly payroll operations with precision, ensuring full compliance across all legal entities and jurisdictions
• Administer and evolve the company’s benefits stack, proactively researching, proposing, and implementing new offerings as the team scales from ~30 to 100+ employees
• Plan, coordinate, and execute team events and off-sites, both locally in Berlin and internationally, to foster connection and reinforce company culture
• Serve as the primary point of contact for coworking space operations, managing day-to-day logistics, vendor relationships, and facility needs
• Design, document, and improve HR processes and compliance protocols aligned with German labor law and cross-border regulatory requirements
• Own the full employee lifecycle experience by designing and iterating onboarding and offboarding procedures to support rapid growth
• Evaluate, select, and oversee the rollout of an HRIS (Human Resource Information System) to centralize data, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency
• Develop lightweight people analytics dashboards tracking headcount, attrition rates, and hiring velocity to inform strategic decision-making
• Lay the foundation for learning and development programs by identifying needs, sourcing resources, and structuring frameworks for future investment in employee growth
• Act as a compliance anchor for international hiring, ensuring all employment practices adhere to local regulations in multiple countries
• Maintain accurate records for all people-related documentation and ensure audit readiness at all times
• Collaborate directly with founders and the Talent & People Manager to align people operations with company growth targets and cultural priorities
• Serve as the internal advocate for employee experience, identifying friction points in operational workflows and implementing scalable solutions
• Maintain a strong understanding of evolving labor laws in Germany and key international markets to mitigate risk and ensure ethical compliance
• Support diversity and inclusion initiatives by ensuring equitable processes in hiring, onboarding, and benefits distribution
• Operate independently with minimal oversight, driving projects to completion in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
• Communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization, translating complex legal and operational requirements into accessible guidance
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all people operations tasks
• Contribute to shaping Deltia’s ethical AI culture by ensuring people practices reflect the company’s values of fairness, transparency, and inclusion
• Work in a hybrid model, splitting time between the Berlin coworking space and remote work to support team connectivity and operational needs

🎯 Requirements

• 2-4 years in People Ops, HR, or a closely related role, ideally in a fast-growing startup
• Solid understanding of German employment law; experience with international hiring or EORs is a plus
• Structured, hands-on, and comfortable operating with limited oversight
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus
