đź“‹ Description
- • Join Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) as a People Partner, a dynamic field-based role dedicated to fostering a thriving workplace culture and ensuring operational excellence across our Southwest region. This position is crucial in embodying VEG's core mission: 'Helping people and their pets when they need it most,' by challenging norms and enhancing the emergency veterinary experience for both our clients and our valued team members, known as VEGgies.
- • As a People Partner, you will be instrumental in upholding VEG's unique 'find a way to say YES' philosophy, empowering our people to achieve greatness, grow in unexpected ways, and find a true sense of belonging. You will operate at the intersection of strategic HR partnership and hands-on execution, navigating the fast-paced, innovative environment that defines VEG. This role requires a proactive and relationship-driven approach to support and influence leaders, drive people strategies, and ensure compliance while prioritizing the employee experience.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves regular travel to our hospitals within your assigned geography (Colorado, Nevada, Utah, or Arizona), requiring you to reside in one of these states. This consistent presence allows you to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with VEGgies and local hospital leaders on the ground. You will act as a vital link between our hospitals and our VEG Headquarters (VQ) team, collaborating closely with VQ, regional People, Operations, Nursing, and Medical Directors to execute a cohesive regional people strategy.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass supporting and influencing leaders through data-driven insights and strong partnerships, enabling them to make informed people and business decisions. You will be a key player in driving people strategy and initiatives tailored to your region, ensuring alignment with VEG's overarching goals and values. This includes actively participating in and executing annual People processes such as talent reviews, engagement surveys, performance planning, annual performance reviews, retention initiatives, and compensation reviews.
- • You will provide direct coaching and consultation to regional and local leaders, focusing on building and developing greater organizational capability. By partnering with these teams, you will gain a deep understanding of performance concerns and opportunities, working to identify and address root causes. A critical function is enhancing field leadership effectiveness and capabilities through assessing individual development needs and co-creating development plans. Your goal is to offer effective and holistic solutions that improve the performance of our VEGgies, always in collaboration with the local leadership team.
- • Safeguarding and nurturing the unique VEG culture is paramount. You will collaborate with local leaders to assess and proactively troubleshoot medium and high-risk concerns, consulting on appropriate solutions and follow-up actions. This includes responding promptly and effectively to employee questions and concerns, ensuring a supportive and fair work environment. Furthermore, you will guide, train, and direct local leaders on the proper execution of HR policies and processes, ensuring strict adherence to legal requirements (such as EEO, ADA, FMLA) and company standards.
- • This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a mission-driven organization, possesses a deep understanding of HR best practices, and excels at building authentic relationships. You will be empowered to think creatively, challenge the status quo, and contribute to making VEG not just a leading veterinary emergency provider, but also an exceptional place to work. Your impact will be felt directly in the day-to-day experiences of our VEGgies and the overall success of our hospitals in the Southwest region. VEG is proud to be a certified Great Place to Work® for 2025 and 2026, and this role is central to maintaining and enhancing that distinction.

Demonstrated success in driving HR policies and practices to achieve positive organizational change that enhances employee experience and strengthens company culture.

- • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacation, sick days, or personal needs, providing flexibility to manage your time off as required.
- • A robust employee referral program designed to reward our team members for bringing in more talented individuals to VEG.
