đź“‹ Description
- • Brain Co. is at the forefront of Applied AI, a rapidly growing startup founded by esteemed Silicon Valley leaders like Elad Gil and Jared Kushner, and backed by prominent figures such as Patrick Collison of Stripe and Andrej Karpathy of OpenAI. We are dedicated to building an AI platform and applications that deliver tangible impact on critical real-world problems for the world's most important institutions. Our achievements to date include automating construction permitting for a sovereign government, resulting in an 80% faster process and unlocking over $375 million in value; optimizing supply chains for a leading global energy company, leading to a 30% cost reduction and 99% reliability, preventing over $100 million in losses; and streamlining hospital patient care across national health systems, achieving 40% better outcomes and reducing administrative work by 80%. We have successfully raised a $55 million Series A funding round from top-tier investors and assembled a formidable team of over 40 AI experts from leading organizations like Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks. At Brain Co., your contributions will be directly deployed in the real world, driving significant change rather than remaining in research. We operate at a high velocity, experiencing demand that outpaces our current capacity, and are actively seeking exceptional individuals eager to take ownership from day one.
- • As Brain Co. experiences rapid scaling across its Engineering, Go-to-Market (GTM), and General & Administrative (G&A) functions, it is imperative that our onboarding, compliance, and people systems evolve in lockstep. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who thrives at the intersection of operational excellence and strategic partnership, ensuring our growth is managed with clarity, consistency, and robust leadership foundations. This is a unique opportunity to be a builder, shaping the very infrastructure of our People operations while simultaneously serving as a trusted advisor to functional leaders.
- • In this capacity, you will be instrumental in driving critical compliance and risk management initiatives. This includes ensuring the meticulous completion of I-9 forms, background checks, and all requisite employee documentation. You will act as a key liaison, partnering regularly with immigration counsel to navigate complex legal requirements. Furthermore, you will coordinate the seamless setup of payroll processes and the administration of employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A significant aspect of this responsibility involves maintaining comprehensive documentation to guarantee audit readiness, safeguarding the company against potential risks.
- • Building scalable systems and processes is at the core of this role. You will be tasked with designing and meticulously documenting both onboarding and offboarding processes, creating a smooth and positive experience for every employee. A key objective will be to continuously improve operational workflows across all People systems, identifying and rectifying bottlenecks to enhance efficiency. You will establish clear, cross-functional handoffs with vital departments such as Recruiting, IT, Workplace, and Finance, fostering seamless collaboration. A critical component of this role involves becoming an expert in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS), leveraging these tools to pull essential reports for leadership and inform strategic decisions.
- • Cross-functional partnership will be a daily reality. You will coordinate closely with the Recruiting team to manage post-offer transitions, ensuring a smooth handover. Collaboration with IT and Security departments will be essential for the timely provisioning of equipment and system access for new hires. You will partner with the finance team on reimbursements and payroll matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Working hand-in-hand with the Workplace team, you will manage Day 1 logistics and enhance the overall new hire experience. Crucially, you will own the entire off-boarding process for Brain Co., ensuring a professional and compliant exit for all departing employees.
- • Program management is a key facet of this position. You will leverage strong project management skills to lead company-wide people initiatives, such as the implementation of a performance review program, the execution of company-wide surveys, and the coordination of offsite events. A critical responsibility will be to gather, analyze, and report on key HR trends, translating data into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement. You will also take on technically oriented projects, such as managing the transition between various internal systems, including potential HRIS upgrades or changes. This role requires a proactive approach to partnering with Workplace, Security, Recruiting, and Leadership to support broader HR initiatives and strategic objectives.
