đź“‹ Description

  • • Flock Safety is seeking a dedicated and proactive Permitting Associate to join our growing Permitting Team. This role is instrumental in ensuring the successful and timely deployment of Flock's innovative safety technology solutions across communities nationwide. As a Permitting Associate, you will be a key player in navigating the complex landscape of local, state, and federal regulations to secure the necessary permissions for our hardware installations. You will act as a vital liaison between our customers, internal cross-functional teams, and various governmental jurisdictions, ensuring a seamless and efficient process from application to approval.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to support the Permitting Manager in all facets of the permitting application process. This involves meticulous coordination and diligent follow-through on a high volume of projects, often exceeding 100 concurrent initiatives. You will be tasked with managing unique permitting requirements and product specifications for each customer, ensuring that all installations comply with the specific regulations of the jurisdictions in which they are deployed. This requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in every application submitted.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves collaborating closely with a variety of internal teams. You will work hand-in-hand with the AutoCAD Team to ensure site plans are accurate and compliant, with the Project Management Office (PMO) to align permitting timelines with overall project schedules, with Deployment Specialists to understand on-the-ground installation needs, and with the Product Operations Team to stay abreast of product updates and their permitting implications. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for expediting the permitting process and ensuring that our customers receive their Flock Safety solutions without unnecessary delays.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for problem-solving and a knack for innovative thinking. Permitting can present unique challenges and obstacles, and you will be expected to identify these swiftly and implement creative, effective solutions. This might involve researching alternative approaches, engaging with jurisdictional officials to clarify requirements, or developing new internal processes to streamline applications. Your ability to adapt and think outside the box will be critical to overcoming hurdles and maintaining project momentum.
  • • Data-driven decision-making is a core tenet of Flock Safety's operational philosophy. As a Permitting Associate, you will be expected to utilize performance dashboards and analytics to track and monitor the progress of permitting applications. This involves understanding key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, and making data-backed recommendations for process improvements. Your insights will help the team optimize workflows, reduce turnaround times, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • • This role demands exceptional organizational and time management skills. You will be juggling multiple projects simultaneously, each with its own set of deadlines and requirements. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage your workload efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines is paramount to success in this fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain detailed records of all communications, applications, and approvals.
  • • Beyond the technical aspects of permitting, you will also contribute to fostering a positive and high-performance team culture. The Permitting Team operates with a sense of urgency and a commitment to "Do the Work," embodying Flock's core values. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, take ownership of your responsibilities, and contribute to a collaborative and supportive team dynamic. While direct leadership experience is not a primary requirement, demonstrating leadership qualities such as proactivity, a willingness to help others, and a drive for excellence will be highly valued.
  • • The 90-day plan for this role outlines a clear path to proficiency and ownership. In the first 30 days, you will gain a solid understanding of Flock's permitting processes, tools, and product information, enabling you to answer basic inquiries. By day 60, you will have developed strong problem-solving skills, a comprehensive understanding of various permit types, and robust documentation management abilities. By 90 days and beyond, you will be expected to independently manage your assigned permitting portfolio from start to finish, leveraging data and metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement. This role offers a significant opportunity for growth and impact within a rapidly scaling company that is making a tangible difference in public safety.
