- • Lyte, Inc. is at the forefront of building advanced perception systems for Physical AI, enabling sophisticated operations in complex and dynamic environments. Our innovative approach integrates custom silicon, cutting-edge sensors, and intelligent software into a cohesive platform designed for robotics, autonomous mobility, and the next generation of automation solutions. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with a growing global footprint, Lyte is a place where groundbreaking technology meets real-world application. If you are driven by the prospect of creating impactful technology within a fast-paced, hands-on setting, we enthusiastically invite you to explore this opportunity.
- • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Photonics IC Technical Lead to spearhead our efforts in the design and development of state-of-the-art silicon photonics devices, sub-systems, and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). This pivotal role requires close collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team, encompassing the entire lifecycle from initial design and tapeout to rigorous testing at wafer, chip, and module levels. The ideal candidate possesses profound expertise in silicon photonics IC design, electromagnetics, advanced packaging techniques, and semiconductor physics. A comprehensive understanding of both passive and active photonic components, coupled with extensive experience in utilizing industry-standard EDA tools and conducting meticulous laboratory testing, is essential for success in this position.
- • As a Photonics IC Technical Lead, you will be instrumental in leading the design of high-performance, manufacturable passive and active silicon photonics components. This includes the creation and meticulous optimization of photonic layouts, directly contributing to successful tapeouts. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive simulations and advanced modeling to ensure first-pass design success, minimizing costly iterations and accelerating development timelines.
- • A key aspect of this role involves active participation in design reviews, where you will provide critical insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of our design methodologies. You will also be tasked with creating detailed design documentation and technical specifications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements. This documentation will serve as the foundation for development, testing, and future iterations.
- • Furthermore, you will develop and implement robust test plans, procedures, and methodologies. This encompasses testing at various stages: wafer level, chip level, evaluation board level, and ultimately, sub-module level. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and debugging complex test setups and design issues, systematically identifying root causes and implementing effective resolutions.
- • You will perform precise test measurements and conduct thorough data analysis to accurately characterize device performance, providing key insights into design efficacy and areas for improvement. A significant part of your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to drive product enhancements and resolve intricate technical challenges. This collaborative effort ensures that our photonic components seamlessly integrate into larger systems and meet demanding product specifications.
- • You will also support the critical transition of designs from the Research & Development phase into high-volume manufacturing, ensuring that our innovative designs are scalable and producible. This involves working with manufacturing partners to address yield, reliability, and cost considerations, bridging the gap between innovation and commercialization.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of perception systems by contributing to the core photonic technologies that power Lyte's Physical AI platform. You will be at the forefront of innovation, working with a passionate team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotics, automation, and beyond.
