đź“‹ Description

  • • Join PermitFlow Inc., a pioneering applied AI company revolutionizing the construction industry, and play a pivotal role in building and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers our innovative AI agent workforce. As a Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in architecting, implementing, and maintaining the robust, secure, and cost-efficient systems that enable us to tackle one of the largest information challenges in the economy: deciphering what can be built, where, and how. Our mission is to accelerate housing, clean-energy, and infrastructure development across the nation by streamlining complex processes like permitting, licensing, inspections, and project closeouts for the fastest-growing construction companies.
  • • In this dynamic role, you will be a key contributor to our growing infrastructure team, focusing on the automation, reliability, and continuous improvement of our platform. You will have the opportunity to design and implement backend and frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines that are critical for our AI-driven workflows. This position offers the chance to own features end-to-end, from initial architectural design and implementation through rigorous testing and seamless production deployment. Your work will directly impact the speed, accuracy, and visibility of over $20 billion in development projects, helping contractors reduce compliance time, de-risk their ventures, and scale with unprecedented confidence.
  • • As the U.S. embarks on a new capital expenditure supercycle across vital sectors like data centers, factories, housing, and renewable energy, PermitFlow is at the forefront, building the AI infrastructure at the core of every construction project driving this next wave of reindustrialization. You will be part of a company that has successfully raised over $90 million, including a recent Series B funding round, from top-tier investors such as Accel, Kleiner Perkins, Initialized, Y Combinator, Felicis, and Altos Ventures, with significant backing from industry leaders at OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, and Uber. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a high-growth startup that is fundamentally changing a massive industry.
  • • Your responsibilities will include architecting, designing, and implementing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure solutions that can support a rapidly expanding product. You will be responsible for designing and implementing backend and frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines that are essential for our AI-driven workflows. A significant part of your role will involve developing and maintaining automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable deployments. You will actively monitor, optimize, and scale our cloud infrastructure to guarantee peak performance and unwavering reliability.
  • • Furthermore, you will establish and enforce industry-leading best practices for observability, logging, and alerting, ensuring that our systems are transparent and manageable. Leading and participating in incident response will be a crucial aspect of your role, where you will troubleshoot complex issues, drive thorough postmortem analyses, and implement learnings to prevent future occurrences. Collaboration will be paramount as you work closely with various engineering teams to enhance developer velocity while meticulously balancing the critical factors of reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness. This role demands a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced startup environment.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
  • • Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern infrastructure automation tools.
  • • Proficiency in coding and scripting languages including Python, Go, and Bash.
  • • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a solid understanding of distributed systems.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth, venture-backed company.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) and generous paid family leave.
  • • Home office and equipment stipend to support your remote work setup.
  • • Hybrid NYC office culture with 3 days in-office per week, offering direct access to leadership and collaborative team environments.
