- • Build and maintain standardized, reproducible, and secured deployment templates for cloud-based ML drug-discovery workflows.
- • Develop and operate the orchestration layer using tools like Prefect to schedule and run model training and inference workloads on demand and on a recurring basis.
- • Own infrastructure-as-code (IaC) pipelines using Terraform/OpenTofu and Terragrunt to automate environment provisioning, updates, and teardowns with full auditability.
- • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for containerized services to ensure reliable, repeatable deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- • Establish and maintain observability systems including metrics, logging, and alerting to monitor system health across all environments and ensure rapid incident response.
- • Operate and improve the running cloud infrastructure day-to-day with a focus on stability, predictability, and low operational overhead.
- • Partner with the information security team to enforce and enhance the infrastructure’s security posture and compliance with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001.
- • Adapt the platform in real-time as ML researchers introduce new workflows and models, translating novel requirements into scalable, repeatable platform capabilities.
- • Evaluate, prototype, and harden new orchestration and deployment technologies to improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
- • Manage GPU-backed compute resources used for ML training and inference, ensuring optimal utilization and integration with orchestration systems.
- • Collaborate in design discussions, code reviews, and documentation efforts to maintain high engineering standards and knowledge sharing across teams.
- • Use Python with modern tooling (uv, pixi) and FastAPI to build service-layer architectures that isolate business logic from transport protocols.
- • Leverage agentic coding tools like Claude Code as part of daily development workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.
- • Support a distributed team by maintaining clear written communication and documentation to enable seamless collaboration across time zones.
- • Ensure all platform components are auditable, secure, and aligned with clinical-stage life science compliance requirements.
- • Maintain and scale PostgreSQL databases and S3 object storage to support data-intensive ML workflows.
- • Drive operational practices that minimize manual intervention and maximize system autonomy while ensuring uptime for critical drug-discovery pipelines.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong Terraform/OpenTofu engineering skills and hands-on AWS experience
- • Production experience with containerization, container orchestration (e.g., ECS), and CI/CD pipelines
- • Infrastructure-as-code and reproducible environment design
- • Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
- • Strong operational instincts: observability, debuggability, and maintainability
- • Experience with workflow orchestration (Prefect, Airflow, Dagster, or similar) and/or GPU compute platforms
