- ⢠As a Plautdietsch-English Phone Interpreter, you will provide real-time interpretation services to bridge language barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors including healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency services such as 911 calls.
- ⢠Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to interpreting sessions, rendering accurate meaning between Plautdietsch and English without omissions or additions, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and handling emotionally charged or high-stress calls with composure, often for extended durations.
- ⢠You will work remotely from a dedicated home office, supported by LanguageLine Solutionsâ industry-leading training, Senior Language Specialists, and technical help desks, operating within certified ASTM and ISO standards to ensure quality and compliance.

đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Fluency in both Plautdietsch and English, including understanding of cultural dynamics and regional accent variations.
- ⢠Ability to remain neutral, objective, and detached during sensitive conversations involving topics such as end-of-life care, medical procedures, or legal matters.
- ⢠High school diploma or equivalent, with preferred background in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation.
- ⢠Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment authorization.
- ⢠Access to a quiet, secure workspace and reliable high-speed internet (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload) with a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android).
