Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • This role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a groundbreaking, memoir-driven, cinematic audio storytelling brand poised to evolve into a multi-platform universe. You will be instrumental in translating deeply emotional, long-form podcast episodes into a high-volume, high-impact short-form content ecosystem designed for maximum engagement across social platforms. This is far more than a traditional social media editing role; it is a pivotal storytelling and narrative leadership position. Your primary mission will be to shape the emotional architecture, pacing, and resonance of the brand's digital presence, acting as both a creator and a strategist. You will meticulously design how each compelling story unfolds over time and across various platforms, building a dedicated and deeply connected audience.
- • As the Podcast Video Editor, your core responsibility will be the transformation of raw, emotionally charged audio and video content into approximately 90-100 short-form storytelling clips per month. These clips, ranging from 8 to 60 seconds, must be crafted to be emotionally resonant and scroll-stopping, grounded in principles of narrative tension, release, and authentic emotional truth. You will apply advanced cinematic pacing techniques, including the strategic use of silence, breath, restrained text overlays, subtle zooms, and rhythmic editing to enhance the narrative impact.
- • A critical aspect of this role is your ability to make strong editorial decisions from the very outset of each clip. You must ensure that emotional gravity is established within the first 1-2 seconds, capturing the viewer's attention immediately and compelling them to continue watching. You will be responsible for delivering platform-optimized versions tailored for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels, ensuring that each piece preserves the brand's unique voice and tone while maximizing its potential on each specific platform.
- • Furthermore, you will possess the discernment to determine when to feature on-camera presence versus when to rely on voice-led narration complemented by high-quality, emotionally evocative B-roll footage. This strategic choice will be made to maximize emotional impact and audience reach. Sourcing and selecting visuals that powerfully enhance the emotion of the narrative without competing with or overshadowing the narration will be a key skill.
- • Beyond editing, you will engage in content mining and narrative strategy. This involves identifying the most impactful moments within each long-form episode – pinpointing emotional beats, moments of humor, rising tension, satisfying release, and compelling cliffhangers. You will define clear episode-level story lanes, such as themes of grief, revelation, empowerment, humor, or intimacy, to structure the narrative flow.
- • You will design and pitch weekly clip strategies that intentionally sequence these emotional moments over time, creating a cohesive and engaging narrative arc for the audience. Maintaining a meticulously structured Clip Library, categorized by theme, emotion, and long-term intellectual property value, will be essential for future content development and brand expansion.
- • Your role extends to social media output and distribution, where you will publish an average of 3 posts per day across platforms, adhering to a disciplined seven-day cadence. Crafting captions that align perfectly with the brand's voice – described as cinematic, emotionally intelligent, raw, and thoughtful – will be crucial. You will adapt story moments intentionally for each platform, rather than simply reposting identical content, ensuring relevance and engagement.
- • Selecting appropriate hashtags and descriptions that support content discovery without diluting the narrative integrity of the stories is also part of your responsibility. Daily engagement with community comments is expected to reinforce emotional trust and foster a deeper connection with the audience.
- • Maintaining brand cohesion and emotional integrity is paramount. All content must align with defined brand standards, including emotional intensity, a cinematic tone, and elevated storytelling. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure visual consistency and long-term grid cohesion across all social channels. Protecting the emotional intimacy and the authentic voice of the storyteller across all platforms is a non-negotiable aspect of this role.
- • You will also contribute to the growth strategy by monitoring platform trends through a story-first lens, adopting only those trends that align with the brand's core identity. Experimentation with hook structures, pacing, the balance of silence versus music, and caption framing will be encouraged. You will track emotional resonance signals, such as comments, shares, language patterns, and audience behavior, using qualitative insights, not just performance metrics, to refine the creative direction and ensure the brand's narrative impact.
- • Success in this role will be measured by a consistent pipeline of emotionally resonant short-form content that drives audience retention, builds trust, and encourages repeat engagement. A well-maintained Clip Library will support long-term storytelling and IP expansion. You will foster strong narrative cohesion across platforms, training audiences to anticipate, engage with, and return for more. Ultimately, you will establish a clear emotional identity and a recognizable pacing style across all social output, solidifying the brand's unique presence.
- • This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to shape the emotional foundation of a storytelling brand with significant long-term cultural and creative ambitions. You will have complete ownership over short-form storytelling strategy, creative execution, and distribution, directly contributing to the growth of a narrative universe designed to expand into larger media formats beyond social media.
🎯 Requirements
- • Demonstrated experience producing short-form content from long-form storytelling formats (e.g., podcasts, documentaries, narrative video).
- • Advanced proficiency in short-form editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- • Strong instinct for emotional pacing, narrative restraint, and storytelling tension, with a deep understanding of short-form social media behavior and attention dynamics.
- • Ability to translate memoir-style, long-form storytelling into compelling micro-stories without diluting the original voice and emotional depth.
- • Highly organized, consistent, and comfortable owning both execution and creative judgment.
- • Availability to work during U.S. business hours (9 AM - 5 PM PST) and based in LATAM, Africa, or Eastern Europe.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work environment.
- • Opportunity to shape the emotional foundation of a narrative universe with long-term cultural and creative ambition.
- • Full ownership over short-form storytelling strategy, creative execution, and distribution.
- • Direct contribution to the growth of a brand designed for expansion into larger media formats.
- • Chance to work with deeply emotional, memoir-driven content.
