- • Join the College Board's Global Policy and External Relations (GPER) Division as a Policy Fellow, a unique 15-month full-time fellowship designed for recent Master's degree graduates. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in policy research, development, legislative cycles, and partner management within a dynamic, mission-driven team.
- • As a Policy Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Policy and Advocacy team's efforts to research, generate, and advance policy ideas that empower students to shape their futures. You will leverage emerging tools, including AI-supported workflows, to enhance research and analysis efficiency, allowing for a greater focus on strategic interpretation and collaborative problem-solving.
- • This position is fully remote within the USA, offering flexibility for candidates. Those near College Board offices may opt for a hybrid arrangement, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office. Occasional travel for business purposes is required.
- • The fellowship is structured to provide comprehensive exposure to the education policy landscape. Your responsibilities will be divided across three key areas: Policy Research and Analysis (60%), Advocacy (20%), and Strategy (20%).
- • In Policy Research and Analysis, you will conduct in-depth literature reviews and policy scans focusing on critical K-12 and postsecondary issues, including college and career access and success. You will develop specialized expertise in 1-2 key policy areas relevant to College Board programs, such as AI in education or career technical education.
- • You will assist subject-matter experts in analyzing state-level legislation and attend/summarize education-related meetings and conferences on behalf of the College Board. A significant part of this role involves analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data to inform policy analysis, development, and advocacy strategies.
- • The Advocacy component of your role will involve supporting the infrastructure and scaling of an external partnership aimed at advancing key College Board priorities. You will collaborate closely with the partner lead to define partnership strategy, including goals, messaging, and a shared vision.
- • You will be instrumental in creating compelling, evidence-based advocacy materials to bolster the College Board's efforts. This includes developing project plans to ensure smooth partnership operations, managing day-to-day communications, preparing for meetings, and capturing and disseminating critical information, notes, and next steps.
- • In the Strategy area, you will develop an independent culminating project focused on advancing student opportunity. This involves collaborating with national experts in education policy to generate research and advocacy ideas or policy recommendations.
- • You will analyze specific policy areas to identify strengths and opportunities, crafting actionable recommendations and implementation plans to present to key College Board stakeholders. Regular coordination with the team and internal partners will be essential for executing projects and developing presentations.
- • The fellowship is designed for individuals with a strong academic background and a passion for education. You should possess general knowledge of K-12 and/or higher education issues from a state- or national-level perspective.
- • A key aspect of this role is the utilization of AI. You should be confident in using AI to enhance your work or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt. The ability to discern strategic information from AI-generated content is highly valued.
- • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach are crucial for success in this fellowship. You must be able to analyze and succinctly summarize key data points to inform decision-making and prioritization.
- • The fellowship runs from June 16, 2026, to September 17, 2027, providing a substantial period for immersive learning and contribution. This role requires availability to travel approximately 6-10 times over the course of the year.
- • The College Board is committed to fostering a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and collaboration. We seek individuals who are passionate about expanding educational and career opportunities and are eager to embrace emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
- • You will be part of a team that values clear communication, a learner's mindset, a drive for impact, and an empathetic, collaborative approach. We believe in working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared success.
- • This is a full-time position with a duration of 15 months, including a final three months dedicated to internal/external transitions and work rollover, ensuring a smooth handover and knowledge transfer.
- • The College Board offers a meaningful career with a supportive team and a comprehensive benefits package, designed to help you thrive. We are a self-sustaining nonprofit committed to fair and competitive compensation based on qualifications, experience, impact, and market data.
