  • • The Portfolio HR Leader at The Pennant Group, Inc. is a strategic, ownership-minded HR professional responsible for supporting home health, hospice, and home care agencies across California and select multi-state operations. This role is critical to ensuring that Pennant’s CAPLICO values—Celebration, Accountability, Passion, Love, Intelligence, Customer Second, and Ownership—are embedded in daily HR practices, driving organizational performance, employee engagement, and cultural excellence through compliant, people-centered solutions.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as a strategic HR partner to agency site HR and leaders across the full employee lifecycle; proactively identifying and mitigating employee relations risks before they escalate; coaching local HR representatives on performance management, corrective action, documentation, attendance, and misconduct; supporting engagement, retention, leadership development, and culture-building initiatives aligned with CAPLICO; advising on and ensuring compliance with California and federal employment laws including wage & hour, leaves, ADA/FEHA, and workers’ compensation; assisting with investigations, accommodations, organizational changes, and workforce actions; providing Workday support for onboarding, offboarding, compensation, talent actions, and reporting; partnering with Compliance, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, and HR Operations on training, acquisitions, and audits; analyzing HR metrics such as turnover, claims, and engagement data to recommend improvement strategies; and serving as a culture champion and ambassador of Pennant’s HR resources and values.
  • • The Pennant Group, Inc. is a holding company of independent, locally led healthcare companies united by a shared purpose and the CAPLICO values. Each operating subsidiary—providing home health, hospice, home care, and senior living services—is independently managed with its own leadership, employees, and assets, fostering entrepreneurial agility while benefiting from centralized HR support and cultural alignment. This structure empowers local leaders while ensuring consistency in HR excellence and compliance across geographically dispersed operations.
  • • In this role, the Portfolio HR Leader will develop deep expertise in California employment law within a complex, multi-site healthcare environment; strengthen strategic HR business partnering skills by advising frontline leaders on sensitive employee matters; gain hands-on experience with Workday HRIS in a decentralized organizational model; enhance data-driven decision-making through HR metrics analysis; and grow as a culture leader who champions organizational values while driving measurable improvements in engagement, retention, and operational performance.
