📋 Description

  • As a Portfolio Relationship Manager at Allica Bank, you will serve as the primary relationship contact for a portfolio of established SMEs, playing a critical role in helping these businesses achieve their ambitions through tailored banking solutions. This role is central to Allica’s mission of becoming the UK’s most recommended bank for established SMEs by delivering personalised, proactive support that drives customer success and long-term loyalty.
  • You will remotely manage and nurture relationships with SME clients acquired through outreach initiatives, acting as their trusted advisor to understand their business goals, challenges, and growth plans, while identifying how Allica’s evolving product suite — including current accounts, deposit products, and lending solutions — can best support their aspirations.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting regular client engagements to uncover needs and opportunities, maintaining accurate records of interactions and objectives, and proactively managing your portfolio to ensure high service levels and positive customer outcomes aligned with internal KPIs.
  • You will collaborate closely with internal teams across product, credit, operations, and compliance to translate client feedback into tangible improvements in Allica’s offerings, ensuring the bank remains responsive and innovative in serving the SME segment.
  • Managing your own performance and development is key; you will set and track personal goals, seek feedback, and engage in continuous learning to enhance your effectiveness in relationship management and SME banking expertise.
  • Acting as a cultural ambassador, you will embody Allica’s core values of Straightforwardness, Integrity, Collaboration, and Delivery in all interactions — both with clients and colleagues — fostering trust and reinforcing the bank’s reputation as a reliable partner.

🎯 Requirements

  • Proven experience in relationship management or client-facing roles, preferably within SME banking, commercial finance, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with business owners and decision-makers in the SME sector.
  • Strong understanding of SME banking needs, including current accounts, lending, and deposit products, and how they support business growth.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently while managing multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively, convey complex information clearly, and adapt style to different audiences.
  • Track record of identifying and unlocking opportunities from existing client portfolios, including cross-selling and upselling banking solutions.
