• • As a Power & Load Optimization Trader at Intersect Technologies, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition by optimizing how large-scale flexible load participates in the ERCOT market. Your work will directly translate real-time market signals into trading, demand response, and load-shaping decisions that reduce power costs, improve portfolio performance, and support grid reliability—making tangible contributions to a more sustainable energy future.
• • Day to day, you will develop and execute trading strategies across ERCOT’s Day-Ahead and Real-Time Markets, leveraging nodal pricing, congestion signals, and volatility to inform positioning; translate market data into actionable demand response and load-shedding decisions; coordinate with QSE/LSEs and operations teams to align trading strategies with physical load capabilities and reliability requirements; monitor ERCOT fundamentals including congestion drivers, pricing behavior, and basis risk; utilize analytics tools and data models (such as Yes Energy, IRR, or Hitachi Energy systems) to inform real-time and forward-looking decisions; collaborate with internal stakeholders and external market participants to share insights, align on execution, and continuously improve load optimization approaches; and contribute to a learning-oriented team culture through clear communication, shared accountability, and proactive problem-solving in fast-moving market conditions.

• • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in ERCOT market mechanics, particularly around load flexibility, demand response programs, and nodal trading strategies; gain hands-on experience integrating trading decisions with physical operations and QSE/LSE processes; strengthen your analytical and technical skills using industry-standard platforms like Python, SQL, Excel, and specialized energy analytics tools; build a professional network within ERCOT market participants; and grow into a trusted advisor who balances commercial opportunity with operational integrity—positioning yourself for long-term impact in the evolving energy transition landscape.
