📋 Description
- • The Pre-Certification Coordinator (Remote) at Mercy is responsible for managing patient financial account services, including benefit assessment, insurance verification, pre-certification, pre-authorizations, pre-determination, and referrals management, ensuring accurate and timely processing of healthcare services.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations for medical procedures, coordinating referrals, maintaining accurate records in office-management systems (including EPIC), and communicating effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurance provider representatives.
- • Mercy is a leading healthcare organization committed to innovation, technology, and compassionate care, offering a collaborative and supportive work environment where employees contribute to shaping the future of healthcare.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in healthcare insurance processes, medical coding (CPT/ICD-10/HCPS), and administrative workflows, while gaining experience with EPIC and other healthcare systems, positioning you for advancement in healthcare administration or medical billing.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • Minimum two years of experience in healthcare insurance, billing, and coding
- • Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets (Word, Excel), and EPIC
- • Knowledge of current CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems and medical terminology
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- • Preferred: Certification as a Coding Specialist
