- • Principal Engineer, State Estimation (R4602) – Lead the development of advanced state estimation algorithms for autonomous aerial systems, directly contributing to Shield AI’s mission of protecting service members and civilians through intelligent, resilient unmanned aircraft.
- • Design, implement, and optimize real-time state estimation solutions (including sensor fusion, SLAM, and filtering techniques) for V-BAT and X-BAT platforms, ensuring robustness in GPS-denied and dynamic environments.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in perception, control, and systems engineering to integrate estimation algorithms into Hivemind autonomy stack, validating performance through simulation and flight testing.
- • Mentor junior engineers, drive technical excellence, and influence architecture decisions for next-generation autonomy systems across global operations.

🎯 Requirements
- • PhD or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field with focus on estimation, filtering, or sensor fusion.
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying state estimation algorithms (EKF, UKF, particle filters, SLAM, or factor graphs) in real-time embedded systems.
- • Proficiency in C++ and Python, with strong background in linear algebra, probability, and stochastic processes applied to aerospace or robotics applications.
