• • Own and steer the end-to-end delivery of the company’s most critical, multi-quarter initiatives—programs that directly shape how 750 million weekly viewers discover, watch, and engage with content on JioHotstar. You will define success metrics, sequence milestones, and orchestrate 50-plus engineers, product managers, data scientists, and marketers across five time-zones to hit aggressive launch windows.
• • Architect clarity out of chaos. Translate high-level product visions such as “personalised live-sports discovery” or “zero-latency interactive ads” into detailed technical blueprints, dependency maps, risk registers, and phased execution roadmaps. Surface hidden assumptions early, quantify trade-offs, and socialise decisions with VPs and principal engineers before they become costly pivots.
• • Lead and mentor a distributed guild of 8–12 Technical Program Managers. Instil rigorous agile rituals, coach them on stakeholder storytelling, and create reusable playbooks that lift the execution maturity of the entire org. Your weekly architecture clinics and monthly retrospectives will become the gold standard against which other teams measure themselves.
• • Drive Go-to-Market readiness as aggressively as you drive code-complete. Partner with marketing, ad-ops, customer support, and legal to lock launch narratives, run regional beta flights, and ensure infra autoscaling is battle-tested for traffic spikes during IPL finals or global series premieres. Own the post-launch OKR review and feed insights back into the next planning cycle.
• • Act as the organisational “glue” between product strategy and engineering reality. When priorities shift overnight—because a new streaming rights deal closes or a compliance deadline moves—you calmly re-sequence work, renegotiate scope, and keep every squad laser-focused on the highest-impact deliverables without burning people out.
• • Champion a culture of proactive risk management. Build living dashboards that track burn-down, dependency health, and production incident trends. Run quarterly pre-mortems that surface architectural debt, regulatory changes, and capacity constraints six months before they bite.
• • Evangelise best-in-class agile practices—whether Scrum at squad level or SAFe at portfolio level—while remaining pragmatic about what “just enough process” looks like for a hyper-growth consumer platform. Curate JIRA workflows, Confluence templates, and Slack automations that cut ceremony time in half and give teams back their maker hours.
• • Influence the multi-year technical roadmap. Sit shoulder-to-shoulder with principal engineers during design reviews, ask the second- and third-order questions that expose scalability limits, and push for investments in edge caching, real-time data pipelines, and experimentation platforms that will delight viewers and advertisers alike.
• • Serve as the executive escalation point. When last-mile integrations fail or regional compliance audits loom, you parachute in, assemble tiger teams, and drive 24-hour war-room sprints that restore service levels and stakeholder confidence.
• • Leave a legacy of systems thinking. Whether it’s a canonical dependency-mapping tool or a lightweight decision-record framework, every artefact you create will be adopted org-wide, reducing cognitive load for the next generation of leaders.
